Is it just me?
Or do these specimens like Bolt, Cespedes, and Puig look to good to be TRUE?
Maybe Cuba has something in their water?......
The Nats take so much criticism for stopping Strasburg at an innings amount. They may have even have foregone a World Series title in the name of Strasburg's health.
Then, this year they play Espinoza with a broken arm and Bryce Harper with broken knees making them worse off as individuals and as a team. Somebody is going to have to show me the logic......
Evan Gattis has made Brian McCann into a platoon catcher and is giving the Upton's and Heyward regular breathers....And still it feels like he should get more time......
KJ is right. Carlos Gomez should be hitting up in the lineup. I do differ with where I would have him though. I would lead him off vs. lefties and put him third vs. righties.
Gomez can hit in any spot in the lineup. I feel these would maximize runs for the Brewers....
Speaking of KJ, when is the NFBC just going to admit that they will never arrange all-time rankings and just adopt KJ's?
It should have been done a couple of years ago. It's silly that it hasn't happened......
When does the Patrick Corbin bubble burst?
The Twins are using Carroll and Dozier as leadoff hitters. CARROLL and DOZIER!
There are 15, number eight hitters in the National League that are jealous.
At some point, Youkilis owners will have to ask themselves....
Am I better off with Youkilis in, or am I better off with Youkilis out of the lineup?
Great scouting.
The Dodgers spend $150 million on new contracts in trading for players, and their best player was on their own farm the whole time......
I mean, really, Jamey Carroll?
Are the Cubs the most boring team in baseball or what?
They don't have a player that I would not leave my seat and go get a bag of Doritos for. I know, I know, a few of you like Rizzo, but he hasn't arrived yet. And Castro looks as bored with the Cubs as I do.
Dull, dull team....
Which makes me think. Who do I stop and watch?
Chris Davis
Miguel Cabrera
Mike Trout
Yasiel Puig
Yoenis Cespedes
Evan Gattis
Carlos Gomez
Tulo and CarGo
Somebody slap me if I ever think about drafting Hanley Ramirez....For so many reasons....
Does Huston Street have a disabled list clause in his contract, entitling him to a trip there each year?
It seems every year he goes there whether needed or not.
Who are some Managers that have to go for the good of their teams?
Milwaukee
New York Mets
Los Angeles Angels
Kansas City
Minnesota
Phiadelphia
Los Angeles Dodgers
And some of these franchises also have a GM that should be fired. Too bad that takes an act of God....also known as, the owner.

Don't think Greg is against it, we've discussed it - just never finalized.

Leyland ranks right up there with the worst. Outside of Detroit everyone thinks he's great. Watch him day in and day out and you'll disagree.

Joe, I don't think Leyland is all that and a bag of Doritos either. But firing him now wouldn't be good for the Tigers as a whole.
If they were in a long tailspin, yes, but most of the players like him and the Tigers are going pretty good.
In short, fixing what ain't broken could have negative effects.
Leyland would best be let go during the off season.

Good! It's a no-brainer.

So agree. Gibbons should have been fired at least a week ago.
He is not a winner....

Don't know how I forgot him.
Gibbons should be the first Manager fired.
Clearly, not a winner....

I agree with you Dan. It would be very detrimental to Detroit this year to let him go mid season. I just take shots at him regardless of the context it seems.

Never been a big Padre fan ... although I'm trying this year. I've always thought Black did well with the cards he's dealt. He seems to pull the right strings, doesn't make out stupid lineups and does a nice job managing the pitching staff. I'd put him in the top 10 of current managers.
He is a dull interview though, if that's your criteria. He's no Wally there!

He is good with ptiching, I have always thought he is weak on the offensive side, but you are right, they are always thin with offensive talent. When Quentin is your biggest FA in years, you got problems.
As for the Mets, Ever since Bobby V (when he was good) their choice of mangers leaves a lot to be desired. They should've went with Wally and all the kids this year. Wally will be good for a couple of thousand fans a game when they see him in action. Hes got Kirk Nieuwenhuis playing like an all star this season in Vegas. His strength is young players, always has been... he waits by the phone just like Wheeler.
google "playing for peanuts" and see him in action when he first got back in the game after the Dback debacle... Funny stuff.... he didnt want to go back either at that level, but sucked it up..... As much as i don't like wilpon he was the one who brought him to Mets...

I have a post to come about something relating to this later, but Collins has left a bad taste in my mouth two years in a row.
Two years ago, he started Reyes, he bunts for a base hit, then pulls him to help him garner a batting Championship for Reyes.
Last year, starting at the end of August, he says the Mets will do everything in their power to get Dickey 20 Wins.
Crap Collins! Worry about WINNING! The individual things will happen on the field without you thinking they can be manipulated by you. And especially telling the press your thoughts about individual achievements being obtained.
It left me thinking less of the Mets and especially of Collins himself.

Two guys that I would love to see manage are Backman and Sandberg. Completely opposite personalities, with the exception that they both seem to go 100% and don't hide the fact that they really want it. Execs seem to prefer a manager than can be controlled and fits a certain personality profile. Wally's too out of control and Ryne's too introverted. It's BS.

I think Backman learned his lesson... He'll be passionate, but he also knows he'll be on the big stage... It's the job has has wanted since he retired, he just took the long road. I heard Nieuwenhuis would be recalled and sure enough tommorrow. suppsoed to get the CF gig again for now.

He left Santana in too long last year in the no hitter- 135 ptiches or something... And boom not the same again...and now blown shoulder again.. collins is nice guy for the most part, but the players think he is a doofus, he cannot relate to young kids...
