Who Am I?

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Mon Jul 01, 2013 8:16 am

I had a lot of fun making this list. Some easy, some using past clues, some obscure.
This time, there is a common thread, but I won't give it away in the subject line.
It'll become clear soon enough.

Have fun!

1. Goat
2. Moose
3. Cat
4. Doggie
5. Bull
6. Kong
7. Beast
8. Hurt
9. Crush
10. Boomer
11. Killer (not Aaron Hernandez type)
12. I'm Dick
13. Helmet
14. Mustache
15. Absorbine _ _ y_ _ _
16. Finger Wag
17. Big Mac
18. Big Mac 2
19. .401
20 2,130
21. Squat
22. Tex
23. N.L. President
24. Human Rain Delay
25. I'm sitting this one out
26. The 'h' is silent
27. First, 2 n's, second, a lot more
28. First, three letters, second, three more
29. First, three letters, second, three more 2
30. I'm the last name of a song and trio

This may be tough at first, but I expect that once rolling, the names will become easier and clearer......
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Kept thinking about this quiz while getting ready for work and started to realize I was looking at the clues for 28 and 29 the wrong way. 27 also came to me as I kicked myself for not getting the MVP for one of the two greatest World Series in history immediately. :)

27 - Donn
28 - Mel Ott
29 - Lee May

By the way, for 30, has there ever been a 1b named Rush? :)

I was a little too misleading with number 30. I wanted to make it tough, but in doing so, the misdirection made it impossible.
Change the word 'song' in the hint to 'poem'.

These are the saddest of words
Tinkers to Evers to Chance

Although, since I'm a little less than 100 years old, it really doesn't bother me that much ;)

Looks like the actual quote is slightly different than my memory, but you get the point :D

Like Youtube has made a celebrity of that Asian 'dancer', the poem did the same for this trio.
All were good players. Tinkers and Evers would have faded into obscurity without the poem.
Chance's name would have only been recognized by the hardiest of baseball fans.

As is, all three are in the Hall of Fame.
And I have to write the damned Hall of Fame every year on behalf of Shoeless Joe and Dummy Hoy. :(
