And somewhere a much maligned Ryan Braun is thanking ARod for soon taking him off the front page of the 'PEDSetrian Picayune'.

When thinking back on ARod, he was the 'clean' hope at one time. Folks knew that a tainted Barry Bonds would break seasonal and lifetime homer records. At the time, fans knew that ARod was well on pace to break even the cheating Bonds records.
Then, ARod introduced his Cousin and in fans minds, he was a part of the 'Dark Side' of baseball lore.
It's too bad, in fans minds, ARod has gone from the 'Pristine Player' to the 'Arrogant Ass'. And he hasn't been able to help himself since. He's exchanging popcorn with a star during the Super Bowl or maybe flying his lear jet up to Nova Scotia to see the total eclipse of the sun.
If one player has exuded more arrogance than a cougar, strutting, who has just slain a deer, it is Alex Rodriguez. The cougar has an excuse, it eats his prey. It's his livlihood. Alex Rodriguez preyed on us. He wanted something more than a livlihood. He wanted glory. A glory that exceeded his expanding ego.
If the report is true, it is hard for any adult fan to feel sorry for Alex Rodriguez.
Since introducing his Cousin, he has expected baseball fans to forget his transgressions while wanting them to feed his ego.
He still doesn't realize that it does not work that way.
There is no doubt that ARod will fight the death penalty. It's his nature.
Not that he is a fighter.
He simply has the means to do it.
And it means that he will simply do it.
That is who Alex Rodriguez is.
