Votes Are In, But, Decisions Still Need Making

We absolutely suffer in making some of our decisions in fantasy baseball.
Before the season, we'll argue the virtues of one player over another. There is no penalty to be had at that time. It is still before the season starts.
We can get on our pulpit and say that Jaime Garcia will be a lot better pitcher than Jerome Hellickson.
It won't be till much later before the facts show that picking either was a losing proposition.
It is why these Boards are quiet now.
Most of the results are in. The votes have been counted.
Trout beat Harper.
Kershaw beat Verlander.
Kipnis beat Kinsler.
It is more fun for us to talk about what will be, than what is.
That's the reason why football is the talk of the airwaves.
Anticipation of a good trip almost usually exceeds the excitement of the trip itself.

It's ironic in that our season comes down to fine tuning those decisions in trying to garner as much cash as possible, but so little is being said about it.
Some teams are churning. Using every two start pitcher possible to make gains in at least two categories. Devil may care what happens to their WHIP and ERA.
Others, the opposite way of doing things. Introducing a middle reliever from Tampa to their team to bring down ratios.
We all do what has to be done.

I play in a Main Event League with a very respected player. He chose Billy Hamilton in the 26th round of our draft.
Personally, I did not draft Hamilton anywhere. Not even in 50 round leagues.
Although players like Hamilton are overly hyped for their one skill, they still have to hit to be in the every day lineup. I didn't have the confidence that Hamilton could do that. And after hitting only .255 at AAA, I know that his stolen bases will once again be hyped, while his batting average is disregarded over this off season too.
Anyway, my opinion don't count for much cuz he's not on my team. He's not my worry.
The fella that drafted him has kept him on his bench all year. To me, a large detriment.
Now, I'm sure he's holding him now, hoping for a September call up. The problem being that Hamilton's team is involved in a pennant race and, most likely, he'll be limited to just pinch running or pinch hitting. And while, the extra speed may be nice, the other four categories could suffer.
These type of decisions are what make fantasy baseball so tough.

There is nothing like fantasy baseball.
It is a game where decisions are made 12 months out of the year.
And we fool ourselves into thinking that the most important decisions are made early in the season.
Ask anybody within five points of a league title, how important moves are now.
They'll tell you.
