Lets look at some stats that make little sense. But then again, in some way every stat make sense.
It's sort of like seeing a beautiful woman across the street.
Curious to see just how striking this woman is, we go out of our way and head across the street to see her up close.
Only to notice that the presence of zits on her face are only exceeded only by the lack of teeth in her mouth
36-24-36, but her ratios are lacking.....

Anyway, we'll always have the battle between the sabr toothed tiger and the Roto Birds.
SABR's like their walks and on base percentage.
Sabr toothed tigers see a Joey Votto walk with runners on first and third as a stat adder.
Roto Birders see it as a stat subtracter.....

These stats are not a battle between these two animals. If anything, they are the zits and missing teeth on the beautiful woman......

Eight players have at least 10 caught stealing this year.
Marte
Cabrera
Aoki
Choo
Bourn
Parra
Segura
Hechevaria
None of these players have 50 rbi
If wanting more rbi next year, don't take a player that gets caught stealing a lot.

Only one player in the top 50 of taking walks has 30 stolen bases.
Only one.
Mike Trout.
If wanting speed, take a batter who doesn't take a lot of walks.

Top ten leaders in striking out all have double digit homers.
If wanting homers, take a batter who strikes out a lot.

Sabr's toothed tigers have a love of on base pctg and walks at the top of the lineup.
What about the middle?
Joey Votto has 109 walks, .429 obp and a .306/89/21/64/5
Matt Carpenter 56 walks, .382 obp and a .313/103/10/67/3
If wanting walks, be a sabr, not a roto.

Chris Johnson leads the National League in hitting. He's hitting .331.
He gets a lot of press for that.
He has a line of .331/47/10/58/0
If wanting decent stats in the other four categories, do not take a NL Batting Champion.

Of the top 15 in slugging percentage, only two have taken 80 walks or more.
Mike Trout and Paul Goldschmidt.
If drafting a player who walks a lot, make sure that player is in the top 15 in Slugging Percentage.
