If Aaron Hicks had hit two more homers, he would have ended up with 10 homers and nine stolen bases.
Just like Starlin Castro.
Castro had almost 400 more at bats.
Who should have been sent back down to the Minors?
If Dexter Fowler had played the last week, he more than likey would have swiped his 20th base.
As is, he is the only player that ended his season with 19,29,39,or 49 stolen bases.
And they say players don't look at their numbers!
If it's so easy to have a 30-30 season, why doesn't anybody do it?
Nobody did it this year, but during the off season, more than a few of us tout this player or that, as a 'possible 30-30 guy'.
Fact is, Mike Trout was the only 25-25 guy.
Fact is, that only nine players in baseball had a 20-20.
Fact is, that only 16 players even had a 15-15, half of a 30-30.
Fact is, 30-30 is stuff of first rounders.
If a guy hits for 100 rbi, are 100 runs going to follow?
No.
Although during the pre-season, it is easy for us to write that somebody will be a 100/100 guy, it doesn't happen often.
Only four players did it this year.
Miguel Cabrera
Chris Davis
Paul Goldschmidt
Adam Jones
All, first rounders.
Funny thing though....
In all, 15 players had 100 rbi
Only nine scored 100 runs....
If Victor Martinez is known as an rbi guy, how did a platoon guy with 150 less at bats end up with more rbi?
Victor Martinez- 83
Brandon Moss- 87
If 'experts' say that most fantasy players take this years stats into account too much, they're wrong.
In not one draft will Jayson Werth be taken before Joey Votto.
Even though Werth beat Votto's numbers in four out of five roto categories.
If strike outs are so bad, why didn't I hear anybody criticizing Chris Davis this year?
A superb year with 199 k's.
By the way, Jay Bruce had a career high 185 strike outs.
30 extra strike outs from the previous year....and 10 extra points in batting average.
Are strike outs REALLY that bad?
If only ....
Joey Votto led baseball in plate appearances this year.
726.
Joey Votto only finished 46th in at bats.
14 more than Zack Cozart.
If I could only forecast Wins....
Lucas Harrell sucked.
He sucked bad enough to lead baseball in giving up bases on balls.
He sucked bad enough to have a 1.70 WHIP.
He sucked bad enough to have an E.R.A. pushing 6.
He sucked.
And he sucked playing for the losingest team in baseball.
Stephen Strasburg struck out more batters than Harrell both walked AND struck out, had a WHIP of 1.05, an E.R.A. of 3.00, while playing with a winning team, and yet only eight Wins to Harrell's six.
Makes perfect sense.
If only he had pitched 23 more innings, he may have gotten another Win....
Cole Hamels pitched 202 innings.
He got eight Wins.
An average of a Win every 25 innings pitched.
Francisco Liriano had twice as many Wins, 16
He only threw 161 innings....
Or, a Win every 10 innings pitched.
One more thing and this isn't baseball related....
I get ads through e-mail to do stuff. Enlarge my penis, date a pretty girl, help a charity in Nicaragua..
You know, stuff that isn't a reality.
Add one to the list.
I just got an e-mail from a movie chain. It said to 'WATCH GRAVITY'
How in the Hell do I go about doing that?
Just like Starlin Castro.
Castro had almost 400 more at bats.
