Oooooooh!
A 20 team league, 50 rounds, no FAAB, all players stats count......YUMMY

Just thinking out loud and didn't want to use the General Discussion to do it........

As usual, I like where your head is at. If the idea gets off the ground, I'm willing to give it a shot.

It beats having to set lineups in those DC's!
And it would make it a true "draft champion" league.

It brings a lot of the Minor League element to is as well.
It goes beyond just hoping that a minor leaguer is called up. That minor leaguer has to succeed to make a team better.
No lineups would be easier on us and at the same time, eliminate streaming and matchup hunting.
Now, the trick is to get 20 like minds.....

I'd bet you can find 20 willing, the bigger trick might be getting STATS to accomodate a one-off format ... although it could catch on.

Dan, I would entertain this. Drafting 1000 players, now that's going DEEP. May bring new meaning to "value pick".

Good deal!
Some rules will need to be finalized.
Higher ip minimum to thwart reliever only thoughts is a must.
A 'Natural' lineup would have to be on the roster. After that any team would be free to do what they want with their roster for the other 27 picks. That 'Natural' lineup does NOT have to be within the first 23 picks of course.
Cost would be moderate and probably increased next year if all goes well. I'm thinking $150.
We would give STATS first chance to run this. If they can't support, we'd find another means and perhaps even have a 100% pay out.
In that event, Prizes would be
1st- $2000
2nd- $600
3rd- $250
4th- $150
3rr is a thought for this concept..
Another thought and a lesser penalty for the drafters at the top of the order is to minimally penalize them later in the draft.
Starting with round 30, we all draft two players at a time. The number 20 team would pick three players at that time, one to finish off round 29 and two more to begin Round 30. Effectively, team one would have to wait 57 picks from round 29 to round 30's pick. We would draft two players at a time till the 50th round, with the corners getting four picks beginning at the end of round 30.
At round 30, we will have already picked 600 players, so this penalty is less severe than it sounds. Each of the corner teams at this time would select four players.
The two picks at a time would also hasten the draft process.
Nothing in concrete. These are just ideas that could make for an interesting draft.
Any other thoughts?

Dan, I do like the 3RR in this 20 team format. The 2-pick per round option is interesting. If it is just to expedite the draft, I'm not sure I want to start it at round 30, maybe a few rounds later. Not sure, just thinking. Hopefully get some more feedback from others. Either way, I like the idea. Gotta go, gotta find 1000 players.
Does this need to be a 1 catcher league?

Dan, I like the idea, count me in as long as the draft starts after Christmas. I'll be traveling a lot before then. Thanks Roy

Love this idea, would be happy to participate at $150 if there's room for me.

At first I was interested; however after thinking about it, it seems like the healthier teams have significant advantage. At bats And IP race basically. Also I couldn't stomach being forced to roll with a SP pitching at yank stadium and Texas in the same week

Everybody would be in the same boat.
You've noted that you like doing line ups, so no surprise with the diminished interest.
