TOP 10 THINGS WE DON'T WANT TO SEE...BUT WE HAVE TO LOOK ANYWAY.

10. The Astros, already up 1-0, and have the bases loaded and no outs against our pitcher.
Just yesterday, we thought it would be safe to throw him against Houston.

9. Our in-the-lineup lefty power hitter facing Clayton Kershaw.

8. Replays of our best hitter going down in pain.

7. Our Closer, with a 6.00 ERA, finishing up a game with a 10-0 score, to get 'some work' in.

6. Our best Starter, throwing a pitch, holding his elbow, and heading for the dugout.

5. Replays of a spectacular catch that our outfielder made against, yes, one of our hitters.
Bonus, the outfielder gets up limping.

4. The Box Score of a 22-16 game.... Knowing our hitter went 6-0-0-0

3. Any Deadheadz post.

2. Our draft spot.

1.The Box Score of an 11-2 game in which our starter was throwing for the losing team.

A smart man once said that in most sporting conflicts, there will be a clear winner and a clear loser.
That smart man never played fantasy baseball.
Our pitcher has the bases loaded with two outs. Any runs scored will be earned. Our hitter is up.
Screw you, smart man!

What do Joey Votto and my Aunt Ruth have in common?
They both enjoy taking a walk.

Somebody was worried that Clayton Kershaw was getting hit around in Spring Training.
My Son-in-law just got home from a year long tour in Afghanistan.
I doubt that he would put much heart in playing paintball with friends.

Billy Hamilton is so fast that he tapped a pitcher on the shoulder twice to remind him that he was on first base...for now.

Adam Dunn's wife was disappointed on their honeymoon night.
Sometimes, nicknames are misnomers.

Baseball in Australia is like Cricket in America.
After the novelty wears off, nobody gives a crap.
Helluva long way to go for a novelty.

Baseball would be more entertaining if the ball came off the bat as it was pitched.

I know money rules. I get it.
But I miss the days when all Main Events were live, we had one team, and getting our draft spots was so big that the site was host to hundreds of drafters looking for their league and draft spot.
It was cool....
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

And add one more "Amen" from the congregation....
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I'm sure everyone caught Quintana's line on Tuesday.
9 ER 7H 2BB ZERO IP!

Man...that kind of line in the regular season surely leaves a mark!
