ADP 196.
That is the 1st pick of the 14th round.
I'm surprised.
A rookie who has been near the top of home runs and stolen bases in every league he has played in, is usually more favored by NFBC players.
His team even traded a superstar to make room for him as a starter.
And yet, 14th round.
Maybe it's his name.
Joc Pederson is a strange name. As far as I know, the only 'Joc' in a world full of jocks.
Once, there was a favorite umpire named Jocko Conlan.
Back then 'Jocko' was a little like Richie Cunningham calling somebody 'Bucko'.
And there was Jacque Jones. Jones was a good outfielder during the 90's and early Oughts.
The most acclaimed Jacque is Cousteau.
Who literally was in a world of guppies and sharks.
Joc? No.
Pederson loses out on both names.
'Pederson' even seems like a misspelled name.
Like 'Robison' instead of Robinson. Or 'Smyth', not Smith.
There was a Fritz Peterson who pitched well for the Yankees. He is more well known for trading wives, cars, homes, even dogs with his teammate, Mike Kekich.
Maybe it was a good trade for Peterson. He's still married to the former Mrs. Kekich.
Kekich cannot say the same.
Pederson should probably stay away from that kind of career move. After Fritz's (I love saying 'Fritz's) trade, he was booed roundly in every opposing park and the Yankees soon traded him to Cleveland. Back then, a trade to Cleveland, was similar to a New Yorker being transferred to North Dakota now.
All things being equal, Fritz and Joc is a toss up.
Neither conjure up thoughts of he-man baseball players.
Fritz, like an unproductive washing machine.
Joc, heckled by schoolmates for having a name of a protective garment.
Joc would fit better on a Boston or Chicago team.
Joc with Sock playing for the Sox would be pleasing to the fan base.
Or, just Joc the Soc.
But, he's not.
He is just Joc.
And for that, we must penalize him.
More trusted is the rookie who has two first names, Kris Bryant.
A 97 ADP.
99 names better than Pederson.
Pederson plays in a larger market, has a 30/30 resume, and even has a starting job sealed.
Bryant simply, does not.
Clearly, a case of fantasy geeks being averse to a Joc.
