I am preparing for the first draft for the 2016 season. It's a little crazy to be drafting this early for a season that doesn't start for six months. There will be numerous trades, demotions, promotions, retirements, and injuries that happen during the off season.
Still, it provides a better barometer than having national writers drum out the 'ol "I'll take Miggy with the first pick because he is the best hitter in baseball" refrain. There is money on the line. And whether these writers really know it, or not, that changes things immensely.
Anyway, in studying for this draft, I have come across many questions that are tough to answer.
Here are a few....
Can I trust Adam Wainwright?
Why does Carlos Correa and his fantasy frenzy remind me of Eric Hosmer and his rookie fantasy frenzy?
If Dallas and Houston are in the A.L. West, why does Dallas pitch for Houston and Huston for LAA?
Is Cain able again in 2016?
Can Matz stay healthy for a year? For a month? For a week?
Will having no 'real position' hurt Schwarber?
Who is the best Closer in baseball?
Is this the year that players like Tulo, Ellsbury, and Miggy get punished for being panes of glass (pains in our ass)?
Is Javier Baez like a head cheerleader, a tease?
Who's better, Maikel Franco or Sano?
Dee Gordon proved he can hit. Billy Hamilton did not. How much separation, rounds-wise, is there between the two?
This is not a question, just musing.....
The Nationals will probably want to rid themselves of Jonathon Papelbon over the off season.
There are few teams that'll pay 13 million dollars for a Closer, let alone, a headache Closer.
I figure the Dodgers can afford to have him as an eighth inning guy.
Jonathon Papelbon watching Yasiel Puig not run out fly balls all year...priceless

Re: Questions For 2016
In answer to your questions:
Yes, you can trust Wainwright will be hurt again.
No. Hosmer love was irrational exuberance. Correa is illogical exuberance. Seriously, I haven't been this excited about a shortstop since A-Rod.
For the same reason that if a ram is a goat and a donkey is an ass, a ram in the ass is a goose.
Biblically speaking, yes, but he will be banished (to the bullpen).
NY Mets fans say yes. NY Yankee fans say no. The rest of us hope we are drafting against Yankee fans.
No, but he may follow the Oso Blanco path to the AL.
Arodys Vizcaino, though his ERA may be lower than his WHIP. Seriously, 100 k's can't be wrong. Andrew Miller.
No. Spring washes away many a memory.
No, but I heard he is a real sloppy kisser.
Franco. No...Sano...Franco...Sano...
Not as much as there should be.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
