Sometimes, Not Often, Money Loses

Sometimes, fantasy news makes me smile.
Today, the Boston Red Sox announced that Pablo Sandoval was being benched.
I have nothing against Sandoval. I like the kid.
Has the same problem I have in that the next bite will be better than the last.
Sandoval was outplayed for his position.
In Big Time sports, being outplayed does not usually count.
Most expected Sandoval to have his job because of the incredible amount of money paid to him by the Red Sox.
We are a 'Money plays' society.
Travis Shaw outplayed Sandoval.
He EARNED the job.
Usually, that is lost on teams.
Applause to the Red Sox for playing their best players, not richest.
I do caution Red Sox owners from looking at their bench, while the team is on the field.
The imposing physical presence of Ortiz, Sandoval, and Rusney Castillo may be dwarfed and superceded by the monetary expense of their presence.
