For those that like to micro-manage a bit...

Arizona has already played 41 games, most in baseball.
Cleveland has played the least, 35.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

.281/16/5/16/7

.217/16/2/9/1

The first set of numbers is the Bad Upton. The second set, the Good Upton.
Or, wait a minute, which is which now?

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The five most HITable pitchers in baseball?
Or in other words, pitchers giving up the most hits....

Wily Peralta 63
Zack Greinke 62
Adam Wainwright 59
Dallas Keuchel 58
Colin McHugh 58

When we think of hitable pitchers, we do think of Peralta or even Peavy or Shoemaker or our favorite beer.
Greinke, Wainwright, Keuchel, and McHugh owners didn't sign up for this....

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Quietly, Yordano Ventura is having a bad year.
He has thrown the least amount of innings (37) for pitchers with at least seven starts.
He is also tied for seventh among pitchers with the least strike outs while starting at least seven games.
Here's the list of non- K'ers

Mat Latos 19
Derek Holland 21
Doug Fister 22
Jered Weaver 24
Jeff Locke 25
Wily Peralta 25
Adam Wainwright 26
Yordano Ventura 26

Looks like 'Ace' Ventura is doing what we've warned our kids to never do.
Run around with the wrong crowd.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Marcus Semien and Jackie Bradley were the best ninth hitters in baseball (apologies to Bartolo Colon) until moved up in the lineup recently.
Semien owners are happy with his numbers, but the best number may be without a bat in his hands.
Semien has just two errors this year.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Aledmys Diaz is hitting great, but is the Semien of yesteryear.
Nine errors. No other shortstop with more than six.
Diaz is also near the bottom in put outs and assists which doesn't help range finders.
With Peralta on his way back from injury, Diaz looks to become a 'Super U' player.
If St. Louis wants to keep his bat in the lineup, it may come more at the expense of Wong at bats.
Matt Carpenter can play second base, giving Diaz the more reactionary third base position.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Here's the scenario....
Toronto 20 Texas 8
Last inning and neither Manager want to use up pitching.
Odor throws for Texas with Bautista coming up.
Bautista throws at Odor in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The matter is settled and the fans get to see Major League Dodgeball for an inning.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I don't care about bat flips.
I really don't.
To me, there just exuberance in accomplishing a mission.
Same with a pitchers fist pump when getting a big strike out.
I can tolerate both of these well.
For the life of me though, I have a hard time with wide receivers in football hurrying to their feet in football to signal a first down.
NO SHIT?! I say.
The world already knew what you're telling us! Go back to the huddle.
That isn't the exuberance of a bat flip or fist pump, its a 'look at what I did, World!'...and it's boring.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Erick Aybar has the range of a cheetah.......A tranquilized cheetah in a small cage.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

If saying Justin Upton's last name backwards, it belies his performance.....

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The double start from Berrios will be the worst for owners.
His first, he gets blown out.
His second, back in the minors.

It's not nice to compare any pitcher to Clayton Kershaw, especially a fledgling rookie, but I will...

Last night, Berrios walked four in 2/3 of an inning.
Kershaw has walked four in 62 innings.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Fredi Gonzalez was a good company man.
That's it.

Who's next?
Brad Ausmus has a lot of veteran talent in Detroit. But, I get the feeling in watching them that they're just going through the motions.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sonny Gray has given up more runs and hits than Clay Buchholz.
Boston fans are wondering when Management pulls the plug on Buchholz.

Adam Wainwright has given up 34 earned runs. Wily Peralta, 33.
Milwaukee fans are wondering when Management pulls the plug on Peralta.

Dallas Keuchel has given up more hits and runs than Mike Pelfrey.
Detroit fans question the saneness of Detroit Management in acquiring Pelfrey.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Jose Bautista has been hit by a pitch once this year.
Jose Bautista has been hit by a fist once this year.
That may be a record.

Bautista has seen his average fall too.

2014- .286
2015- .250
2016- .223

That average comes with a 33/32 k/bb ratio that sabr's adore

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Braves had a multi homer day in April.
The Braves had a multi homer day in May.
June is 14 days away.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Think the Cubs lineup is all that?
The Red Sox have 84 more hits than the Cubs.
84!
The Red Sox are averaging almost 11 hits per game.
They had 53 hits vs. the Astros in their recent series.
Houston and Boston are both known as slugging teams.
It may be a little bit of a surprise to learn that they are also leading baseball in stolen bases as well.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Angels have sacrificed 14 times this year.
Only two National League teams (PHI, ATL) have more.
I just left a text for Scioscia that the Angels are giving away enough outs without giving them away willingly.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

St Louis Cardinal pinch hitters have 23 hits from their bench this year.
Carlos Gomez has 22 hits this year.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Chris Herrmann 4/16/.279

Buster Posey 4/14/.273

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

13 at bats - Adam Wainwright 1/6/.308
131 at bats- Joe Mauer 1/9/.275

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Blue Jays are 5-3 in Jay Happ starts this year.
All three losses were against the Tampa Rays.

One more....
I've kidded in the past about 'Yahoo Kid's'.
This is a term for some rooks in the NFBC who think they are all that because of winning local and Yahoo Leagues.
I just got a reminder in how badly these leagues really have become.

Imagine this, in 10 and 12 and 15 team Yahoo leagues....
Adam Duvall is available in more than 90% of their leagues.
Next time you are listening to a fantasy radio show overoveroverover using the word 'value', remember that the phone calls are mostly coming from these leagues as well.
Fantasy Comedy and Calamity.
