NO STATS

A player that has Kardasian asstributes (shuddup spell checker!) is Gregory Polanco
The 30 second clock on the field...One of those ideas that sounded better than its implementation
Do we take a number one player in a draft based on latest stats?
Partially.
I made the statement that if a draft were held for next year, today, that Clayton Kershaw would be a dominant number one pick. I feel that is true.
As for me, I would still take Mike Trout.
My reckoning being that we still have not seen the best of Mike Trout. He has a year in him for the ages.
Just as Kershaw's year, this year, is one for the ages.
Chris Hermann's nickname has to be 'Pee Wee', right?
With the MLB package, I can't tell you how much I love listening to Giants, Red Sox, Orioles, and Mets broadcasts.
I avoid Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, and Colorado broadcasts.
Everybody else is in the middle.
I wish Ron Santo were around for the 'Good Cubs'
The new White Sox guy is well liked. And I know he is a relative of an NFBC/NFFC fella.
That said, I think it has changed Steve Stone a little for the worse. Stone, more comfortable, is yakking more and analyzing less.
Understandable on all sides, but I miss the analysis.
Ron Darling is now the best in baseball as far as that goes
Somewhere in Drew Smyly is an ace pitcher. I don't think we'll ever see that guy.
Same for Carlos Martinez.
There is something that is hard to define that won't let them be 'The Guy'
Matt Carpenter, Troy Tulowitzki, Manny Machado, Jose Bautista, George Springer, Charlie Blackmon.
I believe that Managers are starting to get it. Leading off with a power hitter is a good thing.
If managing the Nationals, I would let Bryce Harper lead off. At the least for 10 games or more.
Harper is screwed up. He needs to see strikes. The leadoff man sees strikes.
Probably wouldn't hurt Paul Goldschmidt too
Belatedly speaking of Mike Trout...
I would separate him from Pujols in their lineup. Pujols has made no bones about baserunners trying to steal during one of his at bats. Trout is tethered on the bases as long as tethered to Pujols in the lineup.
In the days of black and white tv, the DBacks uniforms would have been great
We should see Taillon, Glasnow, Reed, and Snell in the next couple of weeks
Each year, I wonder whether it is a good thing to roster these types....still wonder
Teixeira, ARod, McCann, Beltre, Ellsbury...
The Yankees have five DH candidates and only one spot
Where does AJ Pollock go in drafts next year?
With a year's supension looming for the next offense, how high do we take Dee Gordon?
The Yankees have three Closers at the end of their bullpen.
Maybe signing Jose Reyes and having three leadoff men makes sense...somehow
Taking contract and negotiations out of the equation, I believe that the Royals could really use Reyes as a leadoff hitter and second baseman
Matt Carpenter with Paternity Leave...

I'm an official scorekeeper.
Unlike what people think, we make few hard decisions. The rules of scorekeeping define our job for us.
I would like one thing to change.
That instance happened today in the ARI-PIT game.
GerrIt Cole pitched five innings and left the game with the lead.
In one inning, Schugel gave up two runs. It tied the game and the chance for a Win for Cole.
Instead, Schugel will get the Win, because the Pirates happened to score at the right time for him.
It isn't right.
Failure should not be rewarded with a Win
Yasiel Puig is like my watch. It only seems to run when it wants
Cincy relievers are like my Mother-in-law. Odds are that nothing good will come from it
Trevor Story was benched 'rested' and is now hitting seventh today.
Things that make you go "Hmmmm"
Xander Bogaerts is a whole lot better than I thought during draft season
I hate finding things like that out later!
The Rockies get a DH in playing in Boston tonight.
I thought that this series would have been a good time to give Ben Paulsen some whacks.
No dice from that Management.
Tonight's DH?
Daniel Descalso.
Seriously
