Jered Weaver is on the faab list in almost every league this week.
We know Jered Weaver.
We know he is still around. We know he is not what he used to be.
We know his stock has dropped.
We know that he used to be highly thought of.
Now, not so much
He once ranked among the highest of his peers.
He used to be good. A long time ago.
Now, not so much.
He's lost power on his pitch.
The thought of him on our roster only serves to remind us of how bleak that roster is.
He offers little confidence for drafters.

Jonathon Papelbon is on the faab list in almost every league this week.
Papelbon is rich.
He's never had to be a Starter. More noted for being a Closer.
Papelbon is a loose cannon. Nobody knows what to expect from him.
We almost shudder when he is in front of a camera.
It seems he'll say anything for attention.
He could go on a good run, then torpedo everything in one appearance.
He still has his pitch...but...

Nice analogies, Dan. The key difference, of course, is that we have the ability to look at Weaver and Papelbon and say, "thanks, but no thanks," and then move on. I'm not acquiring either of them for any of my teams in FAAB leagues. Unfortunately, we don't really have that choice with Clinton and Trump. Sure, we can choose not to vote, or vote for a third-party candidate, but come January, either Clinton or Trump is going on all of our teams (for better or worse, and more likely, worse).

Sure do like fantasy baseball a lot more than politics!

Very good analogy. But I can see where I COULD use Weaver in very specific circumstances. I COULD perhaps take a flyer on Papelbon gambling on a hot streak.

I can see no circumstance or good outcome streak from either Secretary Clinton or Mr. Trump. It is truly a sad circumstance when all of their respective campaign rhetoric can be boiled down to their best possible message being either "I am not him" or "I am not her".
