Study On Two Levels

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Tue Mar 07, 2017 10:20 am

Just a short story that happened yesterday.
My daughter called asked if I'd be at her house to greet and watch the Grand kids as they came home from school.
I took my notebooks over to her house and did a little fantasy study until they came home.
I was in the middle of a Yoenis Cespedes thought when the two boys came through the door.

They asked what I was doing there.
"Studying"
Both laughed.
I told them that I really was studying.
"You can't STUDY baseball! It's just a game."
Ugh.

I tried to explain about the many sets of numbers, past performances, roots of the players, and personalities.
"Really," I said, "It's like math, U.S. history, world history, and psychology rolled into one."
One of my Grandsons was not sold.
"Yeah, but if we get a bad grade, Mom and Dad yell at us and we don't get to use our phones."
I replied, "But if I fail, I lose a lot of money."

Still not impressed, he said that he would have to do a paper soon that counted as 50% of his grade.
I said, "At least you'll know the results soon after the paper is turned in. Our test is graded in front of us, day by day, for six months!"
"You win, Papa! Dairy Queen?"
"Dairy Queen, it is!"
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
