Every Draft is Right .... For Now

I had many friends and NFBC drafters send me their Main Event teams yesterday. I gave small comments on each of them. But I don't like to give my full opinion on any of these teams.
If doing that, I would be an ass.
My friends just drafted in the biggest drafts of their year! They are riding that drafting high that we all get with big drafts.
They don't want to hear any negativity about their drafts!
I wouldn't either.
For just a few moments, we want to believe that our draft was pristine.
Just for a few moments.
Just give us those few moments of having the best draft in the world.
The only perfect draft we will ever have.
(By the way, people have read my signature and asked my opinion of 'The Perfect Draft'
To me, the perfect draft is to keep all 30 players drafted, not having to spend $1 on faab, and winning the Overall with that team)
One draft sent to me was a team I would never draft in a million years.
1. It went against my grain and style of drafting.
2. I abhorred most of the players drafted.
3. I thought it lacked something in all 10 categories.
To me, a drafter could not have drafted a worse team.
And at the end of note with his enclosed team, he says to let him know how he did.
Ugh.
I dislike commenting on others teams. Period. I really do.
I am no expert. And, I believe that there are no experts in our hobby.
Those that DO say they are experts, either speak well, write well, or just have a mighty high opinion of themselves.
This team shown me, could win.
I don't think it will. I think it is a crap team that doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell.
And it is times like these where I am thankful I just give short thoughts about teams and not long opinions.
But, it could win and I could just be wrong.
Experienced players read through the crap when examining a team.
Even with shortened comments......
"That is a very interesting team" really means "What a Crappy team, I would never have drafted that!"
"You really covered yourself well with power" really means, "Hey Buddy, did you forget that speed and pitching and batting average are categories too?"
"That's a scrappy looking team" really means, "Crap, didn't you draft anybody that can carry you this year?"
We're all different.
In FantasyLand, one Man's 'value' is another Man's crap.
And we are amazed when somebody elses crap (Jonathon Villar for instance) once perceived as another Man's crap turns to Fantasy Gold.
Right now, the last week before the season, we are all correct in who we drafted.
And whether somebody else tells us we were right or wrong in who we drafted, well, it just really doesn't matter in the end.
What matters is what happens a week from now.
