The new prompt in draft rooms has us 'up to date' with the ADP of players.
This means that players picked earlier and earlier in previous drafts will be moved up in current drafts.
For instance, Shohei Ohtani is now near the top of the prompt around the sixth round and Michael Conforto has fallen to around the 11th round or closer to their current adp's.
I guess this is convenient for folks, especially adp followers.
But one thing I miss is that the prompt no longer penalizes bad drafters.
For instance. if a drafter has timed out twice, he is not well liked by fellow drafters.
Or drafters who give up on drafts and don't show up for the last 15 picks.
The penalty he would have to pay would be to get a pitcher with Tommy John on his next pick, being on auto.
Now, he gets a perfectly fine player.
That's too bad.
....
I've drafted in eight, four, two, and one hour drafts over the last year.
One thing that is true in all of them is that the fast or 'normal' drafters carry the slow ones.
The slow ones, always slow to that fact as well.
In a two hour draft, a slower drafter typed in chat that it was his right to take all two hours to draft.
And further, that with the shorter time, others should not be unhappy.
This is akin to a fellow in a busy Wal-Mart going to the express check out with 40 items.
He puts a bar between 10 items on the checkout belt four times.
Thus, the 10 item limit is adhered to...
Is it by the rules?
Probably.
But please, don't expect the 14 folks behind you to be happy about it.
....
I love all the additions that the NFBC and SportsHub has provided us this year.
I admit that when the season started, I was dubious about everything falling into place.
Really, they have done an incredible job.
That being said, there are still worrisome things occurring.
'YOU ARE NOT CONNECTED'
Refreshing during a slow draft a few times.
Putting 'fixes' in customers hands to get into a draft room.
Hopefully, these things will be addressed and the concerns can disappear.
All in all, this IT staff has already done more than all previous IT groups combined.
....
It is times like yesterday when I truly appreciate Greg and the NFBC.
The site was down.
And here is Greg trying to go into every draft, trying to fix things while simultaneously posting 'fixes' on the Message Boards for folks there.
It was a massive effort, but even too much for Greg to handle.
Still, the effort was there to try and make each customer happy that they were drafting.
We may get teed off at something amiss in the NFBC process, but we cannot be upset with the efforts that Greg and his staff do in making sure we're happy.
Many, many kudo's to them (again)
