PEW

I've been very critical of podcasters, experts, and writers (PEW) this year. It wasn't until I talked to an NFBC player by phone last night that I realized why.
And this is probably the case for most NFBC players.
PEW have stopped telling us stuff that we didn't already know.
The NFBC player has become as knowledgeable as these fellas.
No wait...the NFBC player has become MORE knowledgeable than these fellas.
We are at the pinnacle of the fantasy world. We study. We study hard. While PEW study enough for lists, then verify those lists by spouting OBP or OPS to back up those claims. Most of PEW are not talking to us. They are talking to Yahoo Kids. Fantasy players who are new or play in leagues where they ask, "Should I trade Mike Trout for Kole Calhoun, Kurt Suzuki, Cole Hamels, and Scott Oberg?"
Greg and Tom have a radio show and get these type of trade questions. They are never asked for fantasy advice on these Message Boards.
Why?
Because the NFBC player knows that if asking Greg and Tom for fantasy advice that they have not studied enough.
To the masses, Greg and Tom head the best and toughest fantasy site in the world.
And they do.
But this is a school where the students are even more savvy than the Principal.
Most fantasy enthusiasts prefer the more luck-ladened daily game.
They study the matchups and put in their players.
The tough job of studying and drafting for six months followed by six months of intensive in-season Management.
We should be proud.
PEW doesn't do this.
Heck, hardly anybody but us does this.
We toe the line between ultra passionate and madness.
With all this said, we do even more that sets us apart from PEW and others.
We put our money where our mouth is.
PEW gets paid for spewing advice. Advice we have heard over and over.
PEW gets paid whether they are wrong or right.
This includes Greg and Tom on their radio show.
Us?
We pay hundreds or thousands of dollars.
And we only get paid if we are right.
THAT is what really sets us apart.
PEW can yell to the highest heavens that we should draft this player or that one.
They have absolutely nothing on the line during these rants. Nothing.
It is more entertainment. Less information.
With money on the line, that doesn't help us much.
