Bad Breath

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Mon Jun 15, 2020 8:41 am

I'm a selfish sombitch. I want things my way. I ain't getting baseball my way. Right now, I'm not getting any baseball at all. In JUNE!
That's just stupid.
And since we're already halfway through June, I could give a flying crap if we have any baseball at all.
I say that. Because I'm pissed. But, probably don't mean it.
The owners have killed all this time to have what they want.
Fuck the players.
Fuck the fans.
Fuck me.

I don't like using that kind of French, but these are hard times.

Today, the owners dictate what will happen with baseball this year.
30 little twerps with their own agenda telling us all how baseball will be this year.
The players have no power.
The fans have no power.
I have no power.

As a fantasy player, I'd like to give these owners a big middle fingered salute.
They've pretty much killed a season that didn't need killing.
Reminds me of the story of two cowboys.
A cowboy is riding through the desert on his horse and comes upon a horse that's been shot in the head.
Five miles later, he happens upon a cowboy about to die.
"What's the matter Cowboy? Did your horse go lame?"
With his last dying breath he responded, "No, I just couldn't stand his breath any longer."
The cowboy that shot the horse for bad breath are the owners.
Instead of just handling a small problem, they use overkill not to lose money this year.
Even though it'll kill themselves and their product for the next couple of years.

Anyway, what is bound to happen with us as fantasy players?
My guess is that all money will be returned for previous leagues drafted.
The differences being what we drafted and what the season will actually be, just too great to play the game we're used to.
On the upbeat side, I believe that we will have new contests for this extremely shortened season.
It should at least put a little pizzazz in a Summer that so far has been dominated by street walkers.
It's at least, something.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Although I expect cancellation and refunds of all earlier drafts, I would hope that the '2nd Chance DC' not be cancelled.
All owners in these leagues knew that the season would be cut short.
It was a second chance of drafting with that mindset.
I believe those leagues should be played out,
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
