Next Time, Just Dry

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Thu Jul 02, 2020 4:29 pm

What it said....

'Jose Quintana required surgery on his left thumb after getting hurt washing his dishes at home, and he won't resume his throwing program for another two weeks.
He needed a nerve repaired in his thumb, and he required five stitches afterwards. One imagines this will put Quintana at least three or four weeks behind at the beginning of the season.'

What it should have said...

'Jose Quintana got a little too much of the plate with a Cutter and was hurt by it today. He'll need a doctor to repair the nerve to his left thumb.
He'll also have to have another nerve looked at. The nerve to tell his wife "No" next time the dishes need washed.
As is, Quintana hits the IL with 'dishpan hand.'

EDIT- One more....

'Free agent Tyson Ross has joined his brother in saying he's sitting out the season.
Nationals starter Joe Ross said earlier this week that he was opting out. Ross was in camp with the Giants on a minor league deal, but he was released last week.'

'Tyson Ross has decided to sit out the season. This sounds better than saying, "Nobody wants me."
In Fantasy, few care.
Tyson and his brother, Joe Ross, are as close to getting picked in drafts as David Ross.
Tyson and Joe will try to catch on with a team next year.
Good luck.
Nothing looks better on a resume than saying, "I sat out last year".
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

While we're talking about these kind of updates....a little rant...

Hey RotoBlurbs, who do you have these updates for?
Remember us?
The customer?
Some who are even subscribing to your service?

We can give a rats ass which writer gets the information. We simply don't care.
Yet, you want to give credit like it's a competition.
And please, don't give us these writers OPINIONS. Just the news.
They're opinions are no better than ours. In fact, worse.

And PLEASE, PLEASE do your jobs.
Right now, daily, we are getting messages about players not being in camp.
Its been a week.
We should have already been informed in who is and who is not in camp.
Instead of writers guessing who is going to play where, can you help out the customer and just let us know who is in camp first?
We can do the rest, believe it or not, without writers opinions.
Give us the facts. We can do the rest. Trust me on that.
But we need the facts first. Not in dribs and drabs.
I know it's easier for writers to give opinions, but while their covering their team, can they simply take a roll call and help us out?
THANK YOU!
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
