Fit To Be Tied

Post by DOUGHBOYS » Mon Jan 03, 2022 4:02 pm

Pissy mood today so bear with me....

Today I see this...

"USA Today reports that there are no negotiations currently scheduled between MLB and the MLBPA. "

And it pisses me right off.
Look, I know there won't be an agreement soon. I have no inklings of there even being a deal in January.
Then I asked myself, "Why not?"
Why not talk now? What would it hurt?
I'll tell you what it would hurt. Nothing.
But...and this is a big BUT...Folks who wear ties don't work like that.

Folks that wear ties and make decisions have to be prompted. Usually by deadlines.
Deadlines that are off in the distance is an excuse for non-production for folks with ties.
Look at our politicians.
Decisions made by them are never made to get out in front of something.
They only make decisions after the fact. Or at a deadline.
And for you thinking I'm a Democrat or Republican....I'm neither.
Some would call me an independent. So be it.
I feel I am more just anti-politician.
I laugh at most folks who take politics seriously.
Picture a round plate.
Now picture a dog throwing up on that plate.
This dog puke would be politicians.
Makes me feel sorry for the dog puke, really.
Ok, now we get a knife and separate the dog upchuck in the middle.
Voila! We now have our two parties.
And for some reason, folks root for an d think their party is better than the other party, even knowing their roots are....dog vomit.
I don't get it.

Anyway, these guys with suits and ties don't want to come to a bargaining table because they are not prompted.
Like a kid not cleaning their room till their parents yell at them.
What me worry!?
Both sides taking fans for granted.
Even use them in their arguments vs. one another.
MLB says fans want shorter games.
In all my years of talking with other folks, I have not heard one baseball person EVER say, "IWISH THESE GAMES WERE SHORTER!"
Not once.
You know who DOES say, "I WISH THESE GAMES WERE SHORTER!"
The press.
They don't like working till all hours.
And the press puts words in baseball fans mouth saying, Joe Fan wants shorter games.
Most members of the press, of course, wear ties.
So now, we have seven inning doubleheader games.
We have a runner on 2nd base in extra innings to alleviate long games.
We have pitchers throwing in the minor leagues with a clock on them.

Joe Fan never asked for shorter games.
Hell, if it gets past their bed times, you know what they do?
They stick it out or leave. They have that option. The press....they do not.
So they insinuate the fan wants shorter games, not them.
Stupid guys that wear ties.
You know what the fan wants?
More action!
Quit striking out and hit the damned ball!
Quit walking and earn your way on base!
(I know you analytical folks (again, mostly the press) who hit last for your Little League team is saying, "THAT IS EARNING A BASE!"...but c'mon. You know the truth.

The two sides are doing what they are best at right now.
Nothing.
They are moving with the speed of Mike Trout...standing in CF awaiting the next pitch.
They are moving with the speed of Byron Buxton...on the dl.
They are moving with the speed of ...You get the picture.
They say they care about the fans.
They don't.
It's hard to say if either side really cares about anything beyond what goes into their pockets.
Believe me, if there were a bonus for negotiations being done early, we'd have an agreement. Money talks for them.
We would have an agreement if there were a bonus for these money-grubbing shirts and ties.
But, there isn't.
So, there isn't.
That is how it works for people who wear ties.
And Joe Fan?
He is fit to be tied.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
