March 29th $250 Satellite League #1
Thought I would start a thread for the league for a little banter and bashing during the year.
Looking forward to a competitive season and good luck tonight at the draft.

Will everyone post their lineups? I'm just curious to see how it all turned out.
I'm the player to be named later.

Looking forward to a competitive season and good luck tonight at the draft. OK, I'll start. I thought you had a great draft going. You were killing the first 8 rounds. Getting Jay Bruce in the 8th was great. I passed on him 3 times because I had so many OF already.
Then you decided to go the all-reliever route. I guess you wanted to finish no better than 3rd, huh?
Edit: You still could have pieced together starters from the 12th round on - Danks, Kershaw, Weaver, Bedard, Garza, Scherzer, Harang, Cueto - all kinds of guys were available.
I now look forward to guys who do this strategy because I feel like I will not lose to them. JMO.

Thoughts on my draft: I had decided on cabrera or rollins with the first pick. I was shocked when Lincecom went 2nd and was praying that #5 would have already mapped out a team with someone other than Reyes and that he would slip to us. Didn't happen. I was hoping that a speed outfielder would be there in the 2nd round and when one wasn't Berkman was a great value at #25. In the 3rd I was targeting speed with Ichiro or Roberts but when A-Rod slipped I couldn't resist. In retrospect 4th round probably should have been a speed MI if possible but we went with Ortiz instead. Would have been nice to have speed there and then have gotten Votto in the next round. This put us behind the 8-ball on speed and we were struggling to catch up the next few rounds. I think we ended up close to our projections of where we wanted to be with stolen bases.
Our steals: Bruce in the 8th,Mora 18th. Ray in 16th and Perez in 22nd will both be closing in a few months if not sooner. There is no way they are trusting George in Baltimore with his 1.50 whip.
Pleased with the pitching staff and a lot will be riding on Kuroda (gulp) or we will just search the waiver wires for a couple hidden starters. The rest of the guys should be pretty good whip guys. We will have to get lucky going with the reliever strategy but who knows what will happen!
Thoughts on other teams:
John Chen please fill me in on what you were thinking...i'm a little confused what alternative strategy you are trying.
Mighty Men - what's your name? Quite a few teams drafted a few OF to start.
Can't wait to see Emily and Robert's teams play out after their little feud.
Emily-hope you like Pablo and have room for him on your IF

The only possibility that Chen was doing was bagging power.

You actually took a few guys that I was wanting including Polanco just few picks before me. He slipped crazy low. I also liked where you got DeRosa, Thome and Jose Guillen. I love his temper and HR potential.

and you got Pudge which I wanted for his 8-10 SB. I think he has a chance to be very serviceable in the #2 hole for the stros. might even keep up his WBC power stroke.

In retrospect, I missed Chris Snyder, who I usually take. But I remember thinking I could use a few steals and Ivan seemed on a mission in the WBC to show he is not washed up yet . Maybe he was just playing for a contract.
Polanco in the 18th - ridiculous. I realized I could take him only a few picks before my turn because I realized I could slide DeRosa over to 3B, if necessary.
