Big Fish - Pick #14 is a lot like Pick #2; we both have one guy picking back-to-back behind us and then 26 more guys go before we pick again. I kind of like it near the ends. I'm sure you will be able to get 2 studs with picks 14 and 17. Fret no more and good luck in league 1.

Dawg, this board is awfully quiet ever since you revealed your draft strategy. You won't get any hints or tips from this Queens resident who lives only three miles from Shea Stadium!



I think there are a few owners in this league, myself included, who are "playing two."

King - I'm glad I won't be the only player in town still shell shocked from the AL Auction. I think that was probably a BIG mistake. I just couldn't resist the Pete Rose ball giveaway



I guess I did reveal a strategy... Here is more of my strategy: Get as many good players who will do well and stay healthy as possible. Now the cat is officially out of the bag.

How many of you guys are going to the Friday night festivities? I am travelling from Boston and wondering if I should just show up on Sat or make it for Friday?

Big Fish - Sounds like 3 or 4 of us will be doing the AL Auction Friday night. Greg says we will have a couple of breaks and should be able to wonder into the reception (it's in the next room). My partner, Reed, will be going to the reception. I have a different partner for the Auction.



The reception should be nice to attend. Ron Shandler is a guest speaker and he's interesting. If you follow him or use his Forecaster book, here is a chance to meet him.



As for pick 2, I'm hoping to get A-Rod

Big Fish - Great pleasure meeting you. I like your team and think you have a great shot at winning our league. It must have been your lovely co-manager who made all the right decisions To put this in fishing/baseball terms so you'll understand what I'm saying; she's a "keeper". Don't let her get away or you'll be telling all your friends for years about the one that got away!

I just want to say that I think we had a great bunch of managers here in league #1. It may make it hard for an overall winner to come from our league becasue there were very few strange picks in our league. Looking at the draft message boards, it looks like some leagues had some rookies or weak managers. I see in Chicago where Giambi went in round 5, just as an example.



That said, I certainly hope the overall winner does come from our league. I had a great time and enjoyed the experience. A few of us played "two" as well and I can say that both drafts were well run and fun (except for the near brawl at the AL auction ). Good luck and may the best team win.

i'm not much for board chatter but i wanted to add my voice- congrats to greg and kp on a great job.ny#1 was a great group of people and i enjoyed meeting so many who share my passion for this game.i may regret not taking a stud starter in round #2 but i guess i got greedy for those 5 catagory guys.i was suprised no one seem to be as high on abreu as me as he seemed to go in the 4th round in most drafts. i see him returning to 30/30 form especially if thome stays healthy behind him.best of luck to all. howard,ny league #1, pick 6.

Howard, everyone is missing something, and needs to get lucky with a player or two (or three, four, or five!) coming through for them with big seasons. A great group of owners we have here--look forward to seeing how this all shakes out...
