Guys...this just in ....Pujols must have his foot amputated, Beltran joined a cult that will only allow him to play one day a week and A-Rod is out of the country on a top-secret government missions until November (pay no attention to those spring training box scores...it is all a coverup). Yeah...that's the ticket...

#14 (and I thought 11th was bad last year)!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Todd,

Thanks for the information. Look forward to meeting you in Chicago. Looks like we will have the toughest overall league if returning players is any indication. Of course, just being a "rookie" is not really a disadvantage.

Lance,

Were you Naders Raiders last year? If so, probably won't get A-Rod this year (had No. 2 pick last year)! Anyway, look forward to seeing you again!

Gentlemen --

Not that I expected otherwise, but really enjoyed myself yesterday (Greg/Team 12/League 2/Chicago).

I'm the commissioner of an AL auction league and an NL auction league that will be drafting in the Chicago area on Sat. and Sun., April 9/10.

Wondering if anyone might be willing to run one or both of those auctions -- we'll offer a whopping $50 bucks for each draft...only about 3 - 3.5 hours' work (many players protected in advance).

Both drafts will take place in the west 'burbs (Westchester) ... the Sat., 4/9 draft starts at 1:00 p.m. and the Sun., 4/10 draft starts at 10:00 a.m.

Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you're interested.

Best of luck to everyone this year!

Greg

Well, here I am back in Atlanta (Duluth, actually) in the warm embrace of my family....

"You're home! Yeah....whatdidyoubringme...didyoubringmeanthing...whatdidyoubringme....huh,huh,huh...whereisit!"

And the kids were not much better!

Anyway, I, too, had a blast in Chicago. I have already had a good chance to second guess my team (I picked him WHERE!). Oh, well, now all we have to do is wait and hope no body gets hurt!

I enjoyed meeting most of you. Let's make good use of the message board on the team site once everything is loaded.

Good luck!
