What's up league, team #6 here....aka "Balco Bartokomous". Played in NYC last year, heading out west this year with my buddy Sully to try our luck. Let's get it on.

Hey Pat, good luck. We'll be drafting right next to you.

This is a veteran group of gamers. I count 5 of us who were in the same league last year (coincidence?), including the champ, Clark.

Should be fun.

Nothing easy about Vegas #4. Especially having to do battle with the WCOFB champs from Year #1. Good luck all, I'm out of the 11 spot this season.

Welcome aboard all. Nice to see I am sitting next to Hojin again this year. Of course I am sure he will agree with me that our spots are MUCH better this year (He was 14, I was 15 last year).

Last year was a huge learning curve doing a draft style (15 years of straight auction leagues). But no more learning curve to deal with and alot better on knowing how to prep!!

Good luck all and cya in Vegas

Hi All,

Away from puter all weekend, just saw the leagues. What I want to know is how Meat Loaf ended up in League 1 again....but I guess the same way we ended up in league 4 again. Good Luck to all....last year drafting in the 8th spot we finished in the top 140 overall....but then again Prior with 1 and Nomar in R 2 will not be repeated this year (we have to find new injured players for the 2nd pick).

Good Luck may the best Fresnan WIN......

Hey all! I got the first pick. Not that excited about it. Don't get me wrong, it's better than some other slots, just not my first choice.

Anyway, it's obvious I'll be taking one of the big 3 with the first pick and whichever 2 I don't will be taken by Mark and Stanley. My question is, who will be left when I pick last in round 2, 29 picks later?

I'm not asking for the names of the players, that would be tipping your hand, how about a count by position of the 29 players that will be gone when I make my 2nd pick?

Thanks and good luck to all on Saturday!

Actually, I'll tell you the big 1 if you could answer my question :D

That may not help you out though if it is A-Rod or Pujols ;)

Well, I enjoyed the draft (Team #4) and feel we are a contender coming out of the draft. We were hoping to get Vlad at #4 (We would have taken him anywhere in the top 4, but our 2nd choice was Beltran, so I won't complain).

I think another of the other league favorites coming out of the draft is Team #8. Good balance throughout.

Each team rate their draft and put their best value, worst value and sleeper picks

Draft rating:

Top 5

Best value pick:

Steve Finley (Projected mid 8th round, picked up end of 10th rd) or

Kerry Wood (Projected 44th pick, picked up with 87th pick) - As long as his arm does not fall off

Worst value pick:

Chin-Hui Tsao (Had to reach for the 2nd closer)

Sleeper pick:

Willy Tavares (If he stays in the majors, will be a HUGE SB contributor)

Good luck to all teams , and we know the draft is just the beginning. Let the REAL season begin!!

Well, now that the lineups are finally listed and correct and I can remember who all I took and when... Let's see:

Best Value

I think my 13th, 14th, and 15th rounds picks of Jason Giambi, Jaret Wright, and Jeff Weaver were fantastic. Two Yankees and a better than average pitcher in a pitcher's ballpark. I don't think you can really beat that. Who knows though, Giambi could be all washed up, Wright might have just had a great year, and Weaver may never live up to his potential.

Worst Value

Moises Alou in the 9th. Now that I have gotten my projection models worked out I can see he is probably going to be a dud, especially without Bonds in the lineup. At the time I felt pretty strong, but now I am regretting it. I think I could have gotten him way later or even better got Torii Hunter or Dave Roberts instead. With the way my steals look, Roberts would have been a far better pick.

Sleeper Pick

None really... I didn't go with many rookies, so I would probably have to go out on a limb and say Horacio Ramirez. Good pitcher with a solid team, but needs to stay healthy.

Overall, I think my draft was pretty solid. I was surprised at getting as balanced team as what I did this year, but picking from 9th vs. picking from 11th makes a big difference (my position last year). I've seen a couple of other teams that look pretty tough, and I've seen a few real duds (I won't call any names ;) ), but I will go ahead and step out on a limb and say I should'nt repeat my last place finish of last year :D . Nor will I repeat my 186 out of 195 overall  .
