Looks like the majority of our league is coming in from CA. Guess there won't be any West Coast sleepers in this lge.

Perhaps wire2wire and other middle slots could leave some crumbs on the table for us late round drafters?

As they always say in Baseball, "Hope Springs Eternal". We're hoping Santana falls to us at 14 and Randy is available at 17. :D

Hey, where is the trash talking??? I will get it started by calling out the guys on the left side of the draft area. What was up with those picks? Common, the right side (position >8) is all over you guys

Hey Chris, good meeting you & your partner after the draft. We had just passed on Bonds that round, and now he may skip the year

Just took a look at your team... I see you have No official team name on the NFBC league site yet. Team Throop? How about "Sosa Slams his Womack for a Freel and some Sexson" lol :D

Good luck bro....... We'll be keeping an eye on our rear view for ya!!! ;)

Now that is funny - I love it. So, I have some some number crunching using Master Ball's projections and I don't like the results.

Pick # Hitting Category Pts Pitching Category Pts Total Category Pts Projected Finish

5 61 56 117 1

4 38 60 98 2

15 38 57 95 3

14 57 35 92 4

6 62 25 87 5

7 29 57 86 6

10 41 42 83 7

9 35 47 82 8

1 49 31 80 9

12 31 48 79 10

11 54 25 79 11

13 17 56 73 12

2 38 25 63 13

8 20 25 45 14

3 30 11 41 15

However, I don't believe my own projections. Note these don't include the recent injuries and quite frankly, I just don't believe my offense will lose to a guy (#5) whose top guy is Orlando Cabrera (according to the March 16 Mastersball data)

I think Sosa will have a monster and Berkman will surprise. My gap is a little on the power side, but I expect to find a good hitter and switch David Roberts in and out as necessary....

Who really knows? Maybe Sammy will hit 50 or 60 or maybe 23, impossible to say

Also, when you ran your ptojections, how did you decide which players to use as starters, since those are the only ones that get stats, or did you calculate playing time as well?

Better than most Rob, at least you have me (#13) as being mediocre. I'm still waiting for someone with good projections to come along and rank me #1 (someone besides me)

Oh, and Chris.... Interesting that the top 5 teams are on the left side of the table!!! :D Rob, I can guaurantee you that won't happen !! I could see the left side getting 2 in the top 5, but 4 of the bottom 5 as well.

We spoke after the draft ... I think your team looked OK, could you post it so I can take a look ?

Hi, we tried to track all of the picks, but no guarantees on quality and accuracy!!!!

How we determined starting rotations etc.. was simple - because I didn't have time to figure it all out, I took the top 9 pitchers and top 14 hitters $ values according to Masterballs (somewhat insane projections), so not, it may not be quite right

As for wire2wire's projections, you have to be kidding me! Seriously!! What kind of projections are you using? lol, do you really think my outfield will let this happen????

LOL I was looking at wire 2 wire's projections and to give this offense 29 points is a joke. It will get 15 points in SB alone!!!!

Look at this hitting, you think this is a 29 point offense????

Abreu, Bobby 10 PHI OF

Berkman, Lance 10 HOU OF <- Monster coming beware

Freel, Ryan 10 CIN 3BOF <- Speed

Boone, Bret 10 SEA 2B <- eye surgery means 25 hr at 2b and better avg.

Womack, Tony 10 NYY 2B <- Runs galore in Yankee lineup

Sexson, Richie 10 SEA 1B <- Hello! Did you see the spring training #s? He is back big time...

LaRoche, Adam 10 ATL 1B <- Breakout

Guzman, Cristian 10 WAS SS <- Batting second, he will contribute a little

Molna, Bengie 10 ANA C <- yes he sucks

Ausmus, Brad 10 HOU C <- he sucks too, but lineup means more offense

Spy, I have your team as follows:

Sexson ..32HR..98rbi...0sb....263avg

Freel .. 5....47......30.....270

LaRoche ..14....53......0......285

Boone.....22....76......10.....255

Guzman....6.....55......13.....276

Womack....4.....39......19.....282

Abreu.....24....90......28.....290

Suzuki....9.....75......30.....320

Edmonds...39....108.....4......281

Sosa......31....85......0......254

Berkman...22....83......3......291

Molina....9.....39......0......257

Ausmus....2.....18......2......225

Roberts...4.....30......38.....250

runs total for all starters...953

I have Your starting pitchers at:

82wins...75saves...3.85era...1.26whip and 985k's

I know you are expecting a lot out of Sosa, but his numbers will decline this year. And crashing into walls/age will reduce Edmonds #s as well.Berkman coming back off a torn ACL will be very carefull sb's will be down.Sexson is now in a poor hr pk for righties...so don't pay NO attention to those little dingers in Spring

Roberts...well he is 32...watch that groin & hammy this year! :D
