You may want to post a reminder on your league board that you are not using stats from 2004 this year. I think that might be where the confusion lies.

Good luck this season.

Wow, great find Chest! I especially enjoyed this quote from the boys at Baseballtangent.com:

"Nerd app was whirring away. This team rocks. I was surprised how stupid most of these guys where. Gave us value everywhere while trying to corner odd things like SB. Seriously, never seen a league where SB was targeted so heavily.

I think we ran away with it. I will post the full results soon."

Definite league Message Board fodder. I can't wait to smack the snot out of these guys this season.

Always love quotes where the intelligence of others in put into question...and they provide an obvious typo in the same sentence. They must be genious savants.

There's a BBT South that drafted in Tampa -- are these guys in your league, too?

Having put up $1250 YOU should have known that, baseballtangent. In a 15 team, no trade league these key deficiencies cannot be overcome.

Period. Good analysis and well said- yes there is a team from Tampa in our league. I met the guys nice young fellas and be reminded it seemed that most if not all of the arrogant comments came from the New York team.

I also thought that the negative comments about the NFBC and how it was run was simply incorrect too.

It is just an item to look at on a slow news day- Have a pretty good feeling some folks will be brought down to earth as soon as the games start.

I tried to find it too but I think they took the article down.

I wish I would have been able to get a read. I always like to get a feel for what tools other GMs are using.

Anyway, guys that have a draft tool will always be better than everyone else according to their own projections or whatever projection set they use. If not, they are using it wrong.

I crushed the competition according to my projections using my draft tool in every single draft and auction :D . Of course that is why we play the regular season...

Makes for another good side-bar to track during the season...like tracking Chest, Gordon etc.

Repeat winners deserve respect...every other year winners should zip lips.

Too lazy to post a link but you missed the article criticizing individual picks and criticizing the NFBC some.

I actually had not seen the 2nd thread, it is like the blind leading the blind. My favorite was speed will be readily available on waivers concept. IMO the 2 hardest things to find on waivers is k's and speed.

Im glad they feel so great about the Nook pick for SBs. With his playing time, he might bump them up to 14th place. If you're gonna punt a cat, punt it like a man. Last ditch efforts to salvage a few bags is pathetic....

Thread this AM Posted On MB under General "Basball Tangent. Boy Noise or Real"

Consider this is an open invitation to anyone in NY #1. Whom ever finish's better in our league standings takes the entire pool. $1000 (One Thousand) BUY IN. This means if everyone in the league was in, the league winner would get $14,000. Payable before or at the 2007 NFBC. No Pikers Please!!

Smack talking is Cheap. Let's make it REAL!! Just so there isn't any confusion. My previous post might have needed a recap. Fistrunks want in.

As seen on baseballtangent.com on March 15, 2006 - by Pickles "the league bowling champ"

http://baseballtangent.com/ipw-web/foru ... topic=5087

"believe me, i'm aware that i want to maximize my results in all categories. i'm not just going to focus on winning one league. i will be setting minimun criteria for each of the 10 categories.

there will no "punting" of anything in this."

Im sure they're posting some fiery replys to this forum in the cozy confines of their own website. Nook to TripA and AJ missing the first two? Heluva way to start their championship run...

Kevin D - Glad you've got such confidence. Will certainly make for an active forum this year. You're goin way over my head with the extra $K though. I emptied 'Miss Piggy' to scrape up enough for my entry fee....

Actually the league owners page indicates that mr. hermsmeier hasn't accessed the NFBC site since 3/26, so he probably doesn't know that we've read his remarks. I hope for some type of response when he does catch up on league correspondance, but doubt we will really hear from him. I won't be able to help but go back to their message board looking for more entertainment material, though. It's too amusing over there not to take a look from time to time.
