Hello fellow league mates! Last time I played in the Main Event (2006) I had a horrible team, so you guys have nothing to worry about. Also, I received my last KDS choice

so I'm not too happy about that.
Buster: Where was pick 14 on your KDS preferences?

Eli:
I was "lucky" enough to get my 14th choice. 15 was my last choice.

NICE! Looks like we both "lucked" out this year. I'll try not to punt stolen bases (on accident) like I did last time around. Thinking I might go with Phillips and C. Lee for my first two picks. What do you think? Do you have any crafty strategies up your sleeve?

Eli:
I've been in the NFBC since the first year, and have never drafted in the top half of the draft. Not by choice, but the KDS just doesn't like me. I've learned through the years that a winning team can be built from any position in the draft, so as disappointed as I was getting my 14th choice, I know that we all have a reasonable shot.
The only real downside to drafting after 10 is that there is no way of actually knowing who is going to fall to us at 14 and 15. Does Johan make it down to us? Albert and his injury? Does someone snatch Carlos Lee and his consistency early?
Guerrero is being picked low on mocks, yet he's been a first rounder every year, and is primed for a better season in '08 with a healthy Figgins and newly acquired Hunter.
Brandon Phillips has gone as early as 13 in some mocks. Does he make it? What about Braun and Soriano?
The bottom line is that until Dave Zwickel announces his pick at 13, I will have no real idea what I am planning on doing. I have different scenarios, but all depend upon who our leaguemates leave me.
Some year it might be nice to pick in the top three or four, and have a basic strategy set forth. Looks like this year is not that year, though, so I will have to wait and see. Makes it fun, and a bit challenging.

What you say is definitely true - even in all the mocks I've done it seems I can never grab the same two first rounders from the 15 hole.
Anyone else in this league on these boards? Anyone...[crickets chirp...]

Buster how are you.I THINK YOU GOT LUCKY and dont even realize it.This is the year to be late in the draft, their is about 24 to 26 A players and being from 9 on your getting two.The guys going at the end of the second are no better than the guys going early in the fourth.Ive seen Markakis go 31 and 49, Figgins 31 and 55, Abreu 33 and 53.Your going to get great value picking late on the end of 3 and the beginning of the 4th turn.My last draft at 14 Crawford,Sizemore,at the 3 and 4 turn Mourneau and Hafner.GOT the speed power with bavg.
My top KDS picks were 11 to 15.
I hope you do well Buster , see you in Vegas.

Agreed with Scott - fantastic draft, thoroughly enjoyed it (though I didn't enjoy finding out the news on Lackey after I took him). Good luck all!

Yeah, hopefully Lackey's injury doesn't affect his stats when he does finally pitch. It was great meeting everyone - good luck to all.
