Greetings NY1. Looking forward to the upcoming draft. This is my sixth year in the main event. I'm drafting out of the #14 spot, so if everyone can just see fit to allow Hanley Ramirez or Albert Pujols slide down to me, I'd be most appreciative! :D :D

FYI ... For those of you who are new to the NFBC Main Event, you should know that this was a very atypical draft. It was unusually long. Drafts usually take about 4.5 hours, 5 at the most. Ours took nearly 5.5 hours. It's important to understand this difference going forward, because you don't want to enter a subsequent draft expecting this kind of pace. The pace can vary for several reasons. Some facilitators keep things flowing more quickly than others. Some people know the players better and are able to find and post the names faster. Also, this league had an unusual number of teams which took most of their alotted time (and in some cases more) to make their selections.

I ran projections for our league this afternoon. These projections are based mostly upon Rotowire magazine, although I have revised some of them when it seemed reasonable to do so. I'll only list the positives, so as to avoid the possibility of offending anyone. Don't blame me; I can't even win using my own set of projections!!

League winner: Kevin Cummings (team 15)

2nd place: Sal Ursida (team 5)

3rd place: Erik Sudigala (team 3)

I placed 5th.

Category leaders:

Wins: Sean Greene (team 4)

Saves: Cory Schwartz (team 13)

Strikeouts: Carlos Barrionuevo (team 10)

ERA: Sal Ursida (team 5)

WHIP: Bob Ashmen (team 1)

Batting Average: KMG (team 14)

Homeruns: Tom Brennan (team 12)

RBI: Paul Supal (team 6)

Runs: KMG (team 14)

Steals: Bob Ashmen (team 1)

Curiously, Kevin Cummings projects to win a close race despite a) having no categories where he earns the maximum 15 points and b) finishing last in homeruns.

Kevin Grady (team 14)
