Welcome owners to the Rookie Invitational League Forum. This will be a general gathering spot for us here on the NFBC boards. I will post weekly updates/news here during the season. Please post on this thread giving us your real name and location. I ask all owners to post their names and locations so I can compile a list of all your screen names for future PM's/discussions.

This is your thread here - so feel free to make it your own. You can all start be giving me a list of topics you'd like to start talking about from now until draft day. I know right at the top of my list is the KDS system the NFBC uses for choosing draft slots.

Thanks to Ryan for allowing me to take part in this league this season. I've been with the NFBC since day #1 as I believe I was the second signup. My initial battles in fantasy baseball were with the challenge formats from CDM.

A great group of baseball fans came together over the years and we have made March Madness in Vegas our home, we like to call it the CDM crew. Last year, we had four league winners out in Vegas.

I'm participating this year in all of the formats: Main Event, Auction Championship, Double Play both Live & Online, and completing the battles with a Super League draft. I'll be in AC the first weekend and Vegas for the second.

Looking forward to the discussions. While you'll understand why I won't go into specific players because of the league menu listed above, I'm open to discuss any and all aspects of the NFBC. If you have a question about structure, faab, strategy I'll do my best to give you an honest answer. Best of luck to all.

This is my 1st year in the NFBC, and I am playing in the Live Double Play at Citi Field in addition to this satellite. Looking forward to interacting with everyone and having a fun year with this league.

This is Todd Easterling from Bristol, TN.

Ryan, I would have to say that the KDS system is definitely one of the topics on the top of my list along with how the new Friday rule might be best utilized.

Hey guys - I am happy to report that we have gotten our league forum set up and operational on the Mastersball.com website. This Forum will be our home base for all our daily discussions and strategy talk. Most of you have already setup your message board accounts there - so come over and check in on the Forum there. If you don't have an account at MB - you will need to set it up to take part in the discussions. First order of business will be to discuss the RULES of the game. So check them out and get your questions ready.

I am very proud to announce that the NFBC Rookie Invitational League will be working with the team at Mastersball.com for the upcoming season!

The Rookie Invitational will have it's own dedicated Forum on the Mastersball message boards. This will serve as our home base for all of the leagues strategy discussions and interaction. The Forum was activated yesterday and will be having the first of many "Chats" starting tomorrow at 12 noon.

The underlying mission of the Rookie Invitational is to have a robust season long discussion about playing in an NFBC league. In the interest of having the freedom to discuss anything and dig as deep as possible into strategy - I reached out to Todd Zola and asked if Mastersball would be interested in helping me achieve those goals.

This is a huge plus for the league and it's participants is that in addition to the roster of veterans signed on - our owners will now have the help of Mastersball's team of experts. Todd Zola, JP Kastner, Brian Walton, Lawr Michaels, Rob Leibowitz and Perry Van Hook will add another layer of advice and information to the project that will propel it beyond what even I originally envisioned.

I also wanted to take this part of the league "off-site" to avoid any potential conflicts our discussions might pose for those of you playing in the Main Event and other high profile leagues this season. Having these discussion over at Mastersball will help minimize the chance that any of our discussions on FAAB or specific players, etc. causes any tension within the NFBC family in season. When I feel a topic or discussion can benefit the entire NFBC community - I will post supplemental threads on these boards judiciously. When I feel that you, the best fantasy players in the country can provide an extra layer of information - I will reach out to you all and ask for it here. I will be updating the league every week here in our NFBC League Forum as well.

Everyone is our course welcome and encouraged to join in the conversation at Mastersball. If you are a first time player in any of the NFBC's many leagues - this will be a great season long place for you as well. You don't have to be a member of the Rookie Invitational to join in the discussions and/or chats. Anyone is welcome to ask questions or give opinions and answers.

I hope everyone is as excited about this announcement as I am. The NFBC will now be a major point of discussion on another major source of fantasy information. It will hopefully drive more first time players to the leagues and further cement the NFBC as the BEST place for serious fantasy players to play.

Everyone should now be signed up for the league. Please set your KDS preferences as draft spots will be determined later this week. We should also have access to the league homepage and draft software this week as well - so stayed tuned.
