Marty,

Lucky 13. May be the best spot for the round-the-corner strategy.

Good luck!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Glenn hamels likely won't be on my team unless it's in the 7th and he's my second SP

me thinks fielder or kemp (been batting cleanup) look good. i'll reach in the later rounds.

me thinks you'll be doing some reaching.

[/QUOTE]I might have to reach for some of the guys I'm high on....there's a few talented owners in this league and I don't think it'll be easy.

I already had a taste of Marty passing me the last month of our $500 satellite last year to take top prize. I'm pretty sure I've heard the names Fleming & Edelman around these parts. Mark, rumor has it you're not too bad at this game either. ;)

I'm sure there's a few others in this league I should know but just don't yet.

Should be a hell of a lot of fun and quite the test.

Tough League

But would not have it ant way. For years I never competed against Mark. Now 2 years in a row. Glen too football a bb sat wtf. Hogan is good Philly cheese steaks plus others but I am one of the few that think there is an advantage to 1st week end draft. Mark me thinks you go with Kemp 5 categories. Grab a 1b probably Adrian in 3rd. 13th was my 4th choice and can deal with it. I guess Alexi and McCann are no goes this year. Good luck all

Let me introduce myself. Been in the Main Event since '04 with very limited success. Most years as "Hamburg Hackers". Reasons beyond my control kept me out of last year's ME. My best year was '07 as "the Syndicate" when we finished 11 OA. (Thanks to that damn arbitrary September DL rule,  but that's a story for another day.

Mark, you might remember I facilatated your M.E. league last year.

Many names in this league I recognize. This is gonna be fun. The competition doesn't get much better than this. Good luck guys! See ya next week!

Tell me about it Marty....this will be my third season with the NFBC/NFFC, two baseball & one football, and in all three I manage to find you in one of my leagues. Just remember, I was willing to proxy pick a kicker for your last pick in September so you could catch that last train out of NY, so take it easy on me around the turn, would ya. ;)

Mark....in $325 slo-draft#1 way back in December, I had to make the same call between Kemp & Fielder from the 7 or 8 spot. I went Fielder. Somehow I think you make the same choice if that's really the two you're considering. I'm pretty sure I've seen you knock Kemp on these boards already. Now that wouldn't have been some misdirection, would it?

Nice to see another top 11 finisher in this league Rich...like this league wasn't intimidating enough for a relative newbie like myself. I guess I'll meet you in 8 days.

This looks like a great league. Hopefully I won't see you guys anywhere near my league in Citifield.

Good luck everyone, should be a blast.

Marty i admit, kemp has moved up on my board since spring training started. if you remember, i was partly down on him because torre plays lineup games and i had 25% of his at bats 6 or lower in the lineup. with him batting 3/4 in spring training, my concerns are quickly diminishing. a 30/30 .290 start is a rare feat.

my other consideration is fielder. nice feeling to start off with 40hr 120rbi and .290 avg.

can't go wrong either way.

alexei might be in plans. depends how far he falls.

mccann likely won't be in plans unless he makes it to me in the 4th (highly unlikely)

While your faves picked recently by such a high profile player, has his every satellite or slow draft pick race across the internet within seconds, informing all who want to know. ;)
