good luck everyone. see you all next weekend.
We now have more than 245 teams in the Main Event as we welcome NFBC veteran
Kevin Schiller of Marina del Rey, California to both weekends. Kevin may join us in Las Vegas both weekends, but at the very least he's doing the Main Event Online on the 24th and joining us at the Bellagio Las Vegas on Saturday, March 31st. Kevin finished 2nd overall in the Main Event in 2009 and last year he just missed a money finish when he joined the NFBC Diamond League. Chicks Dig the Long Ball finished 5th with 94 points in the Diamond League, but then stumbled to an 11th place finish in Las Vegas 5 of the Main Event with 67.5 points (260th overall). Welcome back to the Main Events Kevin and best of luck in the hunt for both $5,600 league prizes and the $100,000 grand prize.
Let's add one more signup to the Main Event Second Weekend as
Dustin Wagner of Katy, Texas committed to our signature event today. Dustin joined us two years ago because he liked the auction format and he was already signed up for the $1,300 NL Auction League and the Auction Championship in Las Vegas, but he just couldn't resist the Main Event. Now that's a great tripleheader at the Bellagio on March 30-April 1. Welcome aboard Dustin and best of luck in the hunt for all of these league prizes and the $115,000 in grand prizes.
After a one year absence, NFBC veteran
Rob Kalupar of Hamilton, Ohio will be back with us at the Bellagio Las Vegas on March 30-31 for the Main Event and the $1,300 AL Auction League. We now have 4 of 12 spots filled for that AL Auction League, which is a good start. Welcome back to the NFBC Rob and best of luck in the hunt for both league prizes and the $100,000 grand prize.
It's great to welcome back another former $100,000 champion to the 2012 event as
Bobby Jurney of Dunkirk, Maryland will be back in Las Vegas with his co-manager Joe Rawlings. Bobby and Joe won the NFBC title in 2008 and they join fellow overall champs Artie Rastelli, David DiDonato, Stephen Jupinka and Lindy Hinkelman who are back to try for another overall title. Bobby and Joe almost won a second overall title last year as they led Team Jurney to the Las Vegas March 27th Auction League title with 125.5 points last year, while finishing 5th overall with 1,047.0 points. In the Main Event last year, Team Jurney finished 4th in Las Vegas 5 with 102.5 points, while placing 87th overall with 2,506.5 points. Team Jurney is back for the Main Event and the Auction Championship March 31-April 1 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and we wish them best of luck in the hunt for both league titles and the $115,000 in grand prizes.
We now have ONLY 7 SPOTS LEFT for the Super League Online on Tuesday, April 3rd, right before Opening Day. Our 8th owner to join this debut event is
Aaron Smith of Los Angeles, California, a veteran NFBC owner who loves this format in baseball and football. Aaron competed in the March 27th NFBC Super League last year and led his Curt Flood Love team to a 6th place finish with 88 points. We're glad to have Aaron back with us again this year and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for this year's $20,000 league prize.
Let's get to one more signup over the weekend as Aaron Smith of Wakefield, Rhode Island jumped into the Sunday, April 1st Auction Championship in Las Vegas before it filled up, while also grabbing a Main Event spot. Aaron has been with us since 2005 and last year he led The Vig to a 3rd place finish in the Las Vegas March 25th Auction League with 108.5 points, while finishing 10th overall with 971.5 points. He didn't compete in the Main Event last year, but instead jumped into the March 27th Super League and led his Bringing Down The House team to a 3rd place finish with 108.5 points again. Great job Aaron and best of luck in the hunt for this year's league prizes and the $115,000 in grand prizes.
I'm not sure there's anyone more excited about the upcoming baseball season than
Jon Stadtmueller of Little Rock, Arkansas. Jon didn't play fantasy football this year and is ALL IN for baseball once again this year. He's going to be joining us in Las Vegas on the second weekend for the Main Event, Auction Championship, Ultimate Auction League and Mixed Auction League. I probably missed something, but Jon will let me know. Anyway, we're glad to have him back and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for all of those league titles and the $100,000 grand prize. Last year, Jon led The Mudhens to a second place finish in the St. Louis Main Event with 106.5 points, placing 60th overall with 2,639.5 points. Mudhens also finished third in the Las Vegas March 27 Auction Championship with 99.5 points. Welcome back Jon and good luck.
We're glad to welcome NFBC veterans
Ronny Mor and Russ Prentice of Newport Beach, California back to the live events in 2012 as they are returning to the Bellagio Las Vegas on March 30-April 1 for the Auction Championship and the NFBC XII. Last year, their Cali Cartel finished 7th in Las Vegas 3 of the Main Event with 79.5 points, and 9th in the Auction Championship with 72 points. They are switching to the 12-team Main Event now, but still battling for two national championships. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for both league prizes and the $65,000 in grand prizes.
We moved another step closer to a 9th full Main Event League on the First Weekend as we welcome back
Ronny Mor of Newport Beach, California. Ronny is already signed up for the Las Vegas Main Event on the Second Weekend, but this NFBC veteran couldn't resist and grabbed a Main Event Online spot on Saturday, March 24th as well. Welcome aboard Ronny and I agree that it's a great year to PLAY TWO!!! Thanks man and best of luck in the hunt for both league prizes and the $100,000 grand prize.
I'm glad to welcome back
Don Warner of Wayzata, Minnesota to the NFBC in 2012 as Don is returning to the Bellagio Las Vegas on March 30-31 for a fun tripleheader. He's entered in the Auction Championship, Main Event and NFBC XII over that weekend and is ready to cash in all of them. Last year, Don led Minnesota Legend to a second place tie (damn, we had a lot of ties last year!!!) in Las Vegas League 2 of the Second Weekend with 108.5 points, placing 58th overall with 2,665.5 points. Donnie Baseball also finished 5th in the Las Vegas Live Double Play, while Team Warner finished 9th in the March 25th Las Vegas 9 am Auction Championship with 75 points. Nice job last year Don and best of luck in the hunt for this year's league prizes and the $165,000 in grand prizes.
Donald Warner of Wayzata, Minnesota was already signed up for the NFBC Tripleheader in Las Vegas on March 30-31, but he saw one opening in the NFBC XII on Saturday, March 31st at 5 p.m. PST and he couldn't resist. He becomes our 12th team in that debut NFBC XII Main Event League, taking his second NFBC XII team that weekend. Awesome. Thanks for all of the support Don and best of luck in the hunt for this league prize and the $165,000 in grand prizes.
We filled up the $1,300 NL Auction League today thanks to the arrival of
Ken Magner of Freehold, New Jersey. Kenny was already signed up for a couple of NFBC XII leagues, but he grabbed a third one on Friday, March 30th at 4 pm PT. That's getting to be a popular event/time for our veterans as I can see a Friday night NFBC XII and Saturday Main Event being a very popular weekend doubleheader for years to come. Kenny didn't compete in the NL Auction League last year, but I know he did in the past and we're glad to have him back again this year. Welcome aboard Kenny and best of luck in the hunt for all of these league prizes and the $50,000 grand prize.
I assume he's coming to St. Louis because Charlie Wiegert is going to be there, but we are happy to welcome Ken Magner of Freehold, New Jersey to St. Louis. Ken just grabbed a spot in the Main Event at Pujols 5, giving us 13 teams now for that Main Event. I have spots left FOR ONLY TWO MORE TEAMS!! After that, I don't know what I'm going to do. Ken is also taking two NFBC XII teams: Friday night and Saturday night at Pujols 5.
Kenny won a Main Event League title on the First Weekend last year in Atlantic City, winning AC1 with 127.5 points and finishing fourth overall with 3,200.0 points. GREAT JOB KEN. Now he's coming to St. Louis to compete for a Main Event League title there. Ken is also signed up for the Auction Championship at the Bellagio Las Vegas on Sunday, April 1st, where Chip and our overall champ Lindy Hinkelman will lead the team. He returns to that contest after not playing in the Auction last year. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the league prizes and the $165,000 in grand prizes.
Jason Steeves of Calgary, Alberta grabbed one of the final spots in the Sunday, April 1st Auction Championship league in Las Vegas and he also grabbed a spot in the Friday, March 30th, 4 pm Las Vegas Auction Championship! Jason will likely add a few more events in Las Vegas, but we're glad to get him into these before they filled up. Last year Jason's GW WHALERS finished 12th in the Sunday Auction Championship with 65 points, but he's expecting a money finish this year. Welcome back Jason and best of luck in the hunt for the league prizes and the $15,000 grand prize.
Also returning in 2012 with an NFBC 3-Pack is
Dan Semsel of Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio as he's coming to the Bellagio Las Vegas on the weekend of March 30-April 1. Dan is a longtime NFBC veteran who will be back for the Main Event, Auction Championship and NFBC XII. Nice. Last year he led Madcow and Bama to a third place finish in Las Vegas 3 of the Main Event with 88 points, finishing 118th overall with 2,302.5 points. Now he wants a Main Event league title and a few more. Welcome back Dan and best of luck in the hunt for all three league titles and the $165,000 in grand prizes.
It's good to welcome another NFBC veteran who is planning on a tripleheader in Las Vegas on March 30-April 1.
Dallas Jones of Centennial, Colorado will be with us at the Bellagio for the Main Event and two Auction Championships. I like it. Last year, Dallas led his Didley Squat team to a second place finish in Las Vegas League 5 of the Second Weekend with 112 points to earn $2,800, while placing 42nd overall with 2,755.0 points. Didley Squat also finished eighth in the March 25, 4 pm Auction League with 73.5 points. Dallas will be busy drafting a team each day and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for the league prizes and the $115,000 in grand prizes. Welcome back Dallas and I'll see you in Sin City for some fun in the sun.
Signups are starting to really pick up this week and I better get on the Welcome Wagon or I'll fall far behind again in my announcements. Let's start with a welcome to our newest NFBC member as
Brady Bellis of Oakland, California is joining our live events for the very first time. Brady will be competing in the NFBC Auction Championship at the Bellagio Las Vegas on Sunday, April 1st at 10 am. We're glad to have Brady with the NFBC and I can promise him a fun, competitive time in Sin City with this gang!!

Welcome aboard Brady and best of luck in the hunt for this year's league prize and the $15,000 grand prize.
We now have just three spots left for the $1,300 NL Auction League and only 6 spots left for the $1,300 AL Auction League in Las Vegas on Friday, March 30th thanks to the arrival of
Gregory Churchill from Victoria, British Columbia. We met Greg at the Bellagio two years ago when he was playing poker next to Shawn and he started to inquire about this fantasy baseball draft that was there. He stopped by to watch the AL Auction League and said he was going to play the next year. He jumped into a Double Play in 2010, but skipped a year before jumping into both of these auctions and an Auction Championship on April 1st at the Bellagio. I like the three auctions and I'm sure you will too Greg. Welcome aboard and best of luck in the hunt for all three league prizes and the $15,000 grand prize.
