Rosters are loaded!

Looking over the grid, I'd say Menna and Tyrer had the best drafts (excl my team). What did everyone else in LV1 think ... get the team you wanted and who else looks strong?

KJ - Beyond my pals Menna and Schumacher I'm rooting for JULES. Gal strutted her knowledge the night PRIOR in handling facilitator duties in the $1250 Mixed Auction without ANY help at all. Hope she has a good showing and encourages other gals to jump in the pool. Good Luck with all of your squads this season, you've always been a respected player. KM

Greg's already filling trophy with cash for Team 9. Hopefully the updated edition of their classic 'Drafting a Winner While Drunk and High' will be out in time for NFFC.

Sack, I read what you wrote in another thread...you have to be the guy in the Mets shirt, yes? Thanks for the acknowlegdment, I had fun helping out at the Mixed Auction. I wanted some exposure to the auction format so I did the $200 Auction Satellite and facilitated the $1250 Mixed...loved it! You'll see me on the other side next year. (The $100 for facilitating wasn't bad either, too bad I donated it to the Sportsbook...R.I.P my beloved Vols!).

I don't have a lot of love for your boy Menna...I wanted Berkman!!!! Besides that, I agree with KJ Duke, contending team...nice pitching staff!

I also agree with him about Tyrer's team...I looked at his team yesterday and thought, how did he get all that pitching to go along with such solid hitting. (I thought Tyrer's team in the $1250 Mixed Auction was good at the time too, need to go back and take another look).

I bet Jim is happy that Soriano went to the outfield today. I drafted next to him, he got me a few times on players I wanted.

KJ Duke's Zefurs team, nicely balanced (best in the league I feel), with some depth...gonna be a tough team.

As for my draft, I have never taken 3 OF's in the first 5 rounds, but I did this time. Go figure. My team lacks a little Sock, I was a little short of my target numbers in HR's & RBI's, but we'll see. Pitching has always been my achilles heel, this draft is no different. I did catch a couple breaks in the time it took to drive from Vegas back to L.A., 2 bad, 1 good: Kotsay's back flaring up was a surprise to me (shouldn't have been, my bad), Trot Nixon (Pena will eat into those AB's) and Ambriox Burgos (He'll be the closer for at 4 weeks...that should be good for at least 5 save opps!...Bad sports bet: I actually took the Over for KC's season wins last year...never again!) I like my team though...I'll love it if I see The Rocket in a Red Sox uniform.

Viva la Team Jantas outta the 9 hole!!!

I like your team for the most part (I prefer a bit more speed). A few players stand out as question marks, namely Garret Anderson. Is he going to start the season on the DL? J.D. Drew, can he stay healthy? Also, I think Mussina is in for a tough season. Except for not being a Mussina fan, I think you have a good pitching staff (Penny will surprise a lot of folks). Liked your Hanley Ramirez pick. If your are The Professional, what do you think of your team?

Too much of a mutual admiration society forming - y'all think you're gonna win - let's hear who you think will be LV1's Royals, D-Rays, and Marlins...

I'll go out on a limb and suggest the 9/10/11 turn will be well represented. There must have been black mold dust blowing on that corner.

Well, the 10-spot normally doesn't engage in trashtalk, but he can't resist posting after that last comment lol

If you plug in everyone's 23 starters into Rotolab and view the results based on Shandler's projections, the Mighty Bozos easily come out on top - 58 points for offense, and 59.5 for pitching.

Tyrer comes in a distant second, while Menna is in the bottom half.

Of course, if Shandler is way off...
Thx Jules, you did steal a couple from me with Fuentes and Diaz, and pulled off a great one right after my pick in the 10th with B Roberts.

I almost took him there even though I already had a pair of 2Bs; almost too good to pass up but I had to catch up on my pitching. Btw, I'm rooting for the rocket to return too, but I need him to sign with the 'stros since I bought him up in NL.

Ken, thx; the way this draft went, I believe at least one of us in LV1 is gonna be fighting for the overall prize right down to the wire.

Two positive impressions from draft:

1) Mr. Tyrer was most prepared and confident owner I've ever seen draft. I could see him coming in next year with no reference materials and drafting a winner from memory.

2) If you believe in Value Drafting, Ms. Jules kicked arse - got to the point where I was crossing off her pick before she'd call it out. Could come out of this with the Big Cardboard Check.

Thanks for tapping back. Give Menna and the boys all they KEN handle this year. Should be a fun league with alot of competition.

Best of luck, dont forget to check out that private mailbox. Any gal that knows who a KC Royals pitcher named AMBIORIX, is OK in my book. Go gettum!

I was looking over everyone's team and I do agree team 4 is pretty strong, but I thought ours was pretty well balanced with the exception of speed, although I still think we can finish somewhere in the middle of the pack with who we have. We took a few gambles in JD Drew and Perez, but our relievers and starting pitching are very strong. I also think we have a lot of power to go around, especially if the big hurt stays healthy. anyways, good luck to everyone this year.

A formal introduction is needed; we are the Sultans of Smack. My name is Mr. Perfect; you may call me Mr. Perfect. Along with my partner (The Deacon) we welcome all you ham and eggers (and by the way you ALL looked, I truly mean ham and eggers) to our Las Vegas 1 league. Drafting out of the 15 hole, the Sultans amassed a solid team and a dominating pitching staff, maybe one level under the Tragically WHIP'd team with the seasoned ace Chris Capuano. How many wins do you really expect this year? Back to the Sultans, Mr. Perfect promises three things, 1). We will win this league, 2). Besides Manny and Aramis, Team Zebra's BA. will be .250, and 3). Cain, Hudson and Harden will have to win 25 games EACH for The Little Puppy Team to have a chance.

The most important thing is……

We are Perfect, you’re not,

Mr. Perfect If having 2 legit OFers and 3 slots worth of roster filler is Perfect, then you're Perfect. If having one closer when most have two is perfect, then you're Perfect again. Dominating pitching staff? Decent, not gonna dominate.

Aside from catchers, I don't see anyone on the Z roster with a chance of hitting 250. Team BA excl the Ramirez's, 275, with them, 280.

What the hell is a ham and egger?
Kevin- I believe he may be referring to a 9 to 5 ham and egger, a term made famous by the nature boy himself Ric Flair. Actually a pretty good saying IMHO.

We are confident you will shut this young lad up during the season.

Team 9 reporting back from Vegas. Good times. Unfortunately one thing led to another the night before the draft and we showed up a bit late and in rough shape.

I think our draft went well(about 1st 10 rounds) until we just lost control of what was going on and forgot to add speed and saves into our equation.

Whooops!

Maybe we can find some on the wire. Saves should be easier than steals, but we did pluck Podsednik 2 years ago so one never knows. We should be pretty strong in HRs, rbi, r, Ks, and wins.
