1) What is the etiquette for the 8 hour clock on weekdays? I work, so I don't really expect to be sitting in the chatroom all day waiting for my pick. Is it expected you make a pick right away?
2) If I recall, the NFFC had an 'autodraft 1 round' option. Is this what people usually do when they know they'll be at work and can't access?
We have a 1 Round Auto pick in the NFBC and it works exactly the same as we had in the NFFC. Yes, load your Que up as you get within 3-4 picks of your turn, click on 1 Round Auto and you'll be fine.
We hope to get through 2 rounds a day at least, so yes, we do want folks to be ready to pick during the weekdays if possible. Good luck.

Thanks, Greg.
If I happen to get the end of the draft, is there a way to set it up so that two rounds can be auto drafted in a row? I'd hate to be 14th or 15th, have my one round auto on and then have the league stuck just 1-2 picks later. Either that or email a pick, just in case I can't get the draft software to work at work.

Yes, there is an Auto Pick button that picks more than 1 round for you. So if you are at 14-15 and you have enough players in your Que to get you two good picks, just click on Auto Pick, not 1 Round Auto.

Bumping this up as Slow Draft 10 is at risk of ruining my desire to do any more slow drafts. We have one owner who has timed out in the first round and now we are all waiting for him to timeout in the second. Definitely not an enjoyable way to draft. I'm guessing that Spring Training will be under way before we are done with this one.

Brutal. That is the very reason I'm scurred to enter anymore. Letting one person dictate the ambiance/enjoyment/pace of a draft over the other 14, even if it is within the rules, sux. The overall time limit proposal should definitely be given more credence. Then again, the IT dept may not be up to that task

If it's in the first and second round the guy most likely hasn't checked in and is unaware that the draft has started. I'd suggest contacting Greg and he'll contact him.

I have both called and emailed this owner. If he times out again I'll put him on auto-select.

Tom,
This guy has been MIA now for
two days!!!.

Any communication? He's drafted four rounds now on auto (and I'm pretty pissed that I actually like his start

), but it does make for a lame duck kind of a situation and throws into question the viability of the league. What can be done about it? Serves me right for trying to dodge Marcel in the other drafts!

I loved (past tense) the slow draft scenerios, but situations like this led me away from them. It simply takes the air out of the balloon.

What we have here is someone who signed up for the Draft Champions League not realizing that they start as soon as they fill. This is a new owner and we're doing all we can to reach him via phone and get him in the draft room. He obviously didn't realize we start this one immediately. He had the 14th pick and got auto-picked. It's imperative that we get him up to speed and do the same with every new owner who signs up for these Draft Champions Leagues. They need to realize that these start as soon as they fill, per the rules.

I just spoke with the owner in question and he was confused as to how the process worked for these leagues. But I went over everything with him and he should be all good to go now. He's at work so he may not get to the draft right away but he understands the process now and he will be drafting real soon.

For people unaware with the site, there is no mention of the drafts starting as soon as they fill when you sign up. I would suggest putting that in bold letters next to the "sign up now" link and also changing the date from July 2013 to "as soon as league fills". And even putting in something along the lines of drafts typically start within 2 -3 days wouldnt hurt.

Agree with this - even IF 90% of the people who enter have done the drafts before or are on these boards it would be helpful for a new entrant to get an email explaining all the procedures - write it once and use it when you have to.
