and for $1250 i want to have access to a soda. maybe it's just me. Easy there Flouride. The outlets are available, but what you do when you allow everyone to plug in is force a few extra problems. Who gets first access to them? Do we buy power and bring power strips to each separate league? What happens if one of our facilitators accidentally trips over the power strips and causes computer failures? Are we liable to refund that owner? There are also additional expenses, although that's not a concern.
As for the projectors for each league, I hope that one day we'll have something like that. NOBODY wants to avoid hiring two sticker persons more than me, but right now that 6-foot board is the perfect solution. Again, not that costs are an issue, but renting LCD projectors at shows can run $750 each, screens are $50 each and laptops are $100 or so. Again, that's not the main reason why we don't do things this way, but it's not as easy as some have suggested. The color stickers make some sense.
As for the distance of the boards, well, let's just say that we do a good job of giving everyone space to draft their teams. If you want to be closer to the boards, we can reduce the space we have now of 2.4 feet per person to 1.2 feet per person and you'd be 12 feet closer to the board. You'd have to sit sideways, but you'd be closer.

We like to spread things out, let you be comfortable and hopefully you can see 25-27 feet to the boards. If the No. 1 spot is too close to the board, ask your facilitator to move the board back 1-2 feet. That's easy enough.
As for NY 7, we could have shoehorned that league in the main room and I was disappointed that we didn't have 8 leagues in there since the Hilton got 8 in there for football. But they chose to give those leagues a little more space and that forced one in the outside room. I don't see any advantage to being in either room.
As for noise, well, again I see more positives than negatives (but that's just me). Isn't it a cool setting to see 7-9 leagues drafting at once? Doing 9 separate rooms just doesn't seem as fun as what we had in Las Vegas, New York and the other cities. Yeah, I heard some players being drafted too, but I've competed in many leagues and I've never used someone else's drafting choices or strategies for my own once the leagues have started. How could anyone draft that way? I think as long as I'm running things, the main event will be wide open for the best setting in fantasy baseball.
Oh, as for that soda, just bring one. This is a 5-hour draft at most and I know I can go through a four-hour work day afternoon without a drink. But everyone is allowed to bring a cooler, food, drinks, whatever to any of the drafts. Just bring a 20-ounce soda with you or a liter if you want. We don't care.
Just my thoughts, for what they're worth. Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad to see most of what we planned went well. We'll always strive for perfection, but with 330 unique individuals it's impossible to have it perfect for everyone.
