Corey Hart

Post by Edwards Kings » Tue Jun 25, 2013 2:28 pm

February 21 - Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Thursday that he's still planning on getting Corey Hart (knee) back in late May. Hart said Wednesday that he's ahead of schedule and expects to be playing by late April, but Roenicke is still operating under the assumption that the original four-month timetable for the first baseman will stick. "It does make a difference, how you go about things mentally in coming back from injuries and rehabbing, and if he's positive, he's probably going to work harder," Roenicke said. "But the doctors tell us it's going to be four months [post-surgery] -- I'm going on that. If he comes back sooner than that, great. He says he's a fast healer, I hope he is. But I think, realistically, we're looking somewhere the later part of May. If he's back earlier, great."

June 25 - Corey Hart (knee) indicated Sunday that he isn't close to making his season debut. Hart had knee right surgery in January and his rehab process has gone far more slowly than originally anticipated. "It's definitely gotten better, but their timetable just never happened," said Hart. "They would say one thing and it never happened. I can do everything; I just can't do everything as good as I need to. I don't have the strength in it I need." While Hart was originally hoping to make it back in May, it now sounds like there's a chance he could miss the entire season. The 31-year-old is due to become a free agent this offseason.

I hate Corey Hart. I really do.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Not one positive for his owners.
Drafting him only narrowed the drafter's bench for weeks.
There will be a lot of Corey Hart drops this week.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Sounds like Grady Sizemore and Beltran knees from a few years ago...

There was preseason talk that he could be ready in late June/early May. At some point, the "my knee is not kicking right" started up. Basically, when he started to run is when the problem was realized that something was still wrong.

Those who drafted him and held him until recently did get screwed on this one. Look at the bright side, you can at least be done with the expectations and hope of him returning and helping your teams. Now, you can at least use that spot and make it useful......well maybe.

and if he has been rehabbing all this time; why is this knee "low on strength"? It's not strong enough? I don't know, but probably just feels weak to him because he has not been running at all on it since the surgery. I think he just needs time to keep running on it if he even is.

If he played hockey, this would have been a "lower body injury" and nobody would have known WTF injury he had.
Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.” Isaiah 63:1
