September Venting Thread

Post by Money » Mon Sep 02, 2013 5:53 pm

OK, I'll start with late August.

Bench Cobb for a 2 start pitcher, the two start guy gets rocked while Cobb gets moved up to Sunday to win 2 games that week.

Exact same scenario for AJ Griffin last week.

Today, after the braves game had started, they decide to shelve Teheran for a week.

Quintana, questionable two start week, go with it, he gets to throw an inning. Why the game was started is a mystery.

This is all in one league. It will get worse before it gets better. I vote we stop the season NOW!!

I't going to be a looooonnnnnnggggg month......

By far the worst season ever for trying to figure out who will be pitching in September. We have 6 man rotations, modified 6 man rotations, pitchers taking 7-9 days off between starts now, pitchers being shut down. Hitting isn't much better, all sorts of little BS boo boos keeping guys on the bench. A cyst in a knee, bilateral shin splints (what the heck is that), catchers going down at an alarming rate with foul ball concussions...

Players like Hamilton, Upton, plenty of others can't even hit .230 anymore. Eric Byrnes has a great article out there today- he says the biggest benefit from a lot players he has spoken to about PEDS use, players that used, is that their hand eye coordination was a lot better and improved vision was biggest benefit by far of using PED's. Bottom line is it appears the majority of players this day and age cannot stay healthy and 120-130 games played may be the new norm.

Good luck to anyone drafting any of the named PEDS players next year. Look At Arod, almost 100 ab's so far and shell of himself. Bonds was still cranking out almost 50 a year at age 39...lol, let alone what he did at age 41 and 42. The problem for next year that I see, is just how many players no longer got their PEDS to help them.

September is no fun anymore, especially if you have a solid competing team, its a crapshoot whether the players that got you to September will be available for a contending fantasy team to hold on.

or how about Liriano who seemingly mixes shutout gems in between 8 ER in 2 inning performances. I guess at least for him it makes him an average pitcher.

Can't stand undisclosed injuries. Debated whether to drop Maholm, who I'm not crazy about anyway, but decided to keep him for this week due to favorable matchup with Padres. Of course, now we find out he is hurt and his start canceled. A completely wasted slot for an entire week. Also had not seen anything re Encarnacion being hurt before lineups locked Monday night. Argh!

I know this crap goes on all year, but when you are sweating lineup decisions in September, these non-disclosed injuries are really frustrating.

On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
