The league champ would have a shot at $40,000 if they won both this league and the overall title. Second place gets more than 2x the entry and third place makes more than the entry back in prizes.
Someone from this league COULD win $40,000. Pretty cool. Nice job all.

Talked to Greg at First Pitch Arizona about making the $1300 auction in NYC into a Super auction. He said it could be outside of the auction championship and be a private league with regular super prize payouts. Put me in for the Super Auction, I like taking Mark's money :D :D

Yes, the chance to actually win additional prizes and possibly $40,000 in all more than makes up for the money we took from 2nd and 3rd place within the league to remain part of the NFBC Auction Championship. Yes, this is a tough league, but look at the potential prizes here. Should be fun.

Wonder what's it like to sign up for this league knowing I already have first place locked up?

I don't know if it's possible to resurrect a Chicago Auction League or not this year, but I will say that if we were able to get 15 owners in Chicago on Friday, March 29th for a 4 or 5 pm CT auction we'd find space to host it. I talked with STATS' Dean Peterson, who will be helping Tom in New York City this year, and he said he'd run Chicago on March 29th if we filled a league. He has been the auctioneer there before. If the demand is there for that weekend, we'd consider it.

We know this auction league was as competitive as any in recent years and we do feel bad about not having a Midwest venue after having St. Louis AND Chicago for a couple of years. Now that the Auction prize has grown to $20,000, we are starting to hear from some owners who want to compete in this format but who can't make it to Las Vegas or New York. Again, we'll consider it if the demand is there.

I think there will be difficulty filling an Auction league in Chicago if there isn't also a Main Event offering on Saturday.

I'd hate to travel all the way to Chicago just for an Auction on Friday afternoon and then be forced to draft a Main Event online from my hotel room there Saturday, but I'd certainly do it if that was the only offering.

Again, it wouldn't have to be the big venue comparable to Vegas or New York, but if wherever you would plan on holding this Auction on Friday could be used for a Main Event league or two on Saturday, I think there would be much more interest.

Those Chicago guys would have a Main and an auction at one of their homes if it means getting together again for another NFBC offering.
They're a dedicated bunch.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

We'll host a Main in Dean's living room if 15 guys wanna go there.

I say that without having spoken to Dean about that at all. :D

I totally agree. Space is not an issue as we have several options in Chicago. To us, it was more of the same 30 people having to compete against each other without further growth. But anything is possible.

We'd love to do that Ante. Unfortunately, that idea was met with resistance last year. However, if everyone would prefer that option this year let us know. Last year, Jason Duponte was connected with the folks in Vegas for the Super on Saturday night all by himself in New York. I know he told me he loved it but I think it would be a lot more fun with 14 live bodies there to join him. :)
