Mike, in fairness, you should get out there and find 5 more paying customers to fill the Diamond ... it was sold out and then some in December before your cockamamie Platinum idea poached half the field. Image
I know Mikey thinks that if we just advertised more we'd get more people to just dive into the Diamond and Platinum right away, but it doesn't work that way. It would be great to find this fountain of high-stakes players, but it's not that easy.

I know you want your own SiriusXM show Mike, but shoot for something bigger. There's going to be a new 24-hour Fantasy Sports Network coming to TV and they are going to create reality shows soon. We're talking with them and would love to work with them in many ways. But instead I'll pitch you for the lead role of "The Fantasy Housemen of New Jersey" and the NFBC will never be the same. Deal?
Deal. Thanks. And I'm already working the TV Network angle along with Sirius/XM, but I will represent. "The Four Housemen of New Jersey"? Already have the other three lined up. We can shoot it at Fleming's house.

Okay, just to make sure everyone knows that we still are in contact with folks who are inquiring about this league, I'll put two more owners who are tentative for this league on the list. Both need to see how these fantasy football playoff contests go first, but there's a chance that both may still need a spot in this Diamond League. There are other prospects out there, but at least this shows we aren't stuck at 10.

Anyway, here's the new list with tentative owners:

NFBC DIAMOND LEAGUE
LAS VEGAS
Bellagio Las Vegas
Sunday, March 30, 10 a.m. PT
1. Bob Particelli, Berwyn, Pennsylvania
2. Donn Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia
3. John Lemke, Brooklyn, New York
4. Andy Robinson
5. KJ Duke, San Diego, California
6. Will Tyrer, Beverly Hills, California
7. Stephen Jupinka, Waldwick, New Jersey
8. Rick Thomas, Lewes, Delaware
9. Nick Cassavetes, Los Angeles, California
10. Jim Ferrari, San Diego, California
11. Glenn Lowy (tentative)
12. Derek Pierson/David Hubbard (tentative)

Actually Greg, my tentative status has nothing to do with waiting on my fantasy football playoff contest finish (though I sure wouldn't mind finishing well in one of those for once 8-) ).

I've made a commitment to myself (yet again) to limit my leagues this year and I've been reluctant to commit one of those precious few remaining spots to a league that I wasn't sure would fill. However, I'll do what I can to help the cause here to keep what was until the Platinum's debut this year the premier NFBC stand alone league and one that I truly enjoyed being a part of the last two years.

You can take me off tentative and instead list me as a definite participant.

Now please get Hubbard to commit and find those last three entries (hopefully a few of the newbies with unlimited disposable income you and Massotto seemed to be speaking of might be a nice fit ;)).

The Main Event, Platinum, Diamond, & Ultimate Auction. My Saturday/Sunday 2nd weekend is looking like a blast, a ridiculous challenge, and one helluva run through a gauntlet of fire. What the hell am I thinking?? Still, I can't wait.

Glenn,

All you're missing is a Friday night warm up. No better way than the 12 team SUPER :D You're one of the charter members. It's early enough (6PM) that you'll have plenty of time to get your beauty sleep in before the big weekend.

I understand all to well the need to limit the number of FAAB leagues. I stopped myself at 5 last year, but with the addition of the platinum (fortunately I have a partner to carry me in this one), I'll likely take it to 6 this year.

The Super is on it's way to selling out, if you've got room for one more, come and join the fun, if not, we'll see you Saturday at the Platinum 8-)

The Signup List shows it as an 8pm start Bud. That would definitely impact my beauty sleep. ;)

All kidding aside, I haven't made any decisions on my 12-teamers yet for this year. I will before too long, but finalizing my 15-teamers first and still holding out hope that I get to be a part of the NYC Super Auction before all is said and done.

Two months to go and I've already donated all of my kids' college funds for one fantasy baseball weekend. The Ivy Leagues or prominent private universities were never a real consideration with my anticipated ROI that 2nd weekend, but let's hope I can at least recoup enough for me to afford an online trade school program for them. :?

PS....when are you throwing your hat in the Diamond ring? ;)

I can barely afford what I've got now. Fortunately my kid has made it through college, I think yours will be going to the University of their choice anywhere in the world compliments of your friends in the NFBC :D

Besides I'm not sure I'm ready for these 15 teamers. I have Chad in the platinum and need to start planting the seed that he needs to be the one guiding that ship (I hope you're listening Chad).

I'm doing the 12 team Super, The Platinum, 3 Primetime's and possibly a Main Event and that will do it. I'm still undecided on the Main Event, but I'll probably make the donation.

Come and join the 12 teamer, you'll need something to do Friday night anyway as you will not be able to sleep in anticiaption of your big weekend. ;)

AWESOME GLENN!!! Now only 4 spots left!!!

This is the 5th season of the NFBC Diamond and this really has been a special, special league. It's still mid-January, giving us plenty of time to find 3-4 more owners. Maybe some of our past regulars will get the itch, see the awesome lineup and jump in. Let's hope so.

Kevin Kirves and Scott Fleming were in the Diamond last year, too. Again, hopefully some folks are just waiting a bit before jumping into this stellar competition. We'll contact all and hope to reach some new participants as well.

Awesome addition from my hometown. Jeff & Ante are as tough as it gets, but great guys as well.

What happened to the Hubbard/Pierson tentative entry that I thought was a Playoff Championships away from becoming official???

Now all we need is Massotto and Fleming to take that savings they achieved by partnering up in the Platinum and apply it to an entry here each.

Put me down as a solo tentative for now. I will give you a definitive by mid-February at the latest, but only if you give me a tentative on the MTM Super in NYC for the week prior, Lowy. When and if I make my commitment to this one a definite, you have to do the same. Do we have a deal? If you ask me, you're getting off cheap! ;) It also depends if I end up having any celebrity appearances that I may have to attend on Sunday as well...
