James Stanard is also interested in competing in the NFBC Diamond as well and has asked to secure the last spot as tentative right now. We will definitely do that for Mike and Jim right now and will add a reserve list in case something doesn't work out. It's great to know that we are once again headed to a full league and a full Second Weekend of unprecedented action in Las Vegas. Thanks all.

This is just a tentative list, but it has filled up nicely over the last couple of days:

NFBC DIAMOND LEAGUE

Sunday, March 30, 10 a.m. PT

2. Donn Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia

4. Andy Robinson
5. KJ Duke, San Diego, California
6. Will Tyrer, Beverly Hills, California
7. Stephen Jupinka, Waldwick, New Jersey
8. Rick Thomas, Lewes, Delaware
9. Nick Cassavetes, Los Angeles, California
10. Jim Ferrari, San Diego, California
11. Glenn Lowy, Farmingville, New York
12. Jeff Dobies/Ante Meich, Farmingville, New York
13. Matthew Shepherd, Napa, California

Put me down as a solo tentative for now. I will give you a definitive by mid-February at the latest, but only if you give me a tentative on the MTM Super in NYC for the week prior, Lowy. When and if I make my commitment to this one a definite, you have to do the same. Do we have a deal? If you ask me, you're getting off cheap! ;) It also depends if I end up having any celebrity appearances that I may have to attend on Sunday as well...
Ummm, how'd this happen? Somehow I'm still getting leveraged despite there being no filmed evidence of me partaking in the Spearmint Rhino transgressions that allowed you to blackmail both Fleming and Juprinka!!! :? ;)

Still, good to have you in the Diamond my friend. With you and Stanard on board, this prestigious event looks like it's set for another year of good times and fierce competition.

As I said, this one is still very tentative for me. I'd love to make it happen, and will do what I can, but it would be nice for you to turn around and do the same for me the week prior in NY if I can pull this one off. You can afford it. If I had your money, I'd burn mine.

I'm shocked!! MTM resorting to bribery!! As a member of the Diamond League I would like to speak for the rest of my league mates and say that it would be the highest honor to compete against you and we very much hope you make that tentative label a definite!!!

If MTM isn't in, how will I know if I can compete with the best fantasy players in the world?

Very funny, Particelli. You'll be getting a good dose of how good I am and what you're up against the night before in the Platinum. Seem to remember quite vividly how you got your ass kicked in our Diamond last year, and that was with me having no pitching. Just so you know, that's not happening this year. I promised Fleming that I will draft at least one or two decent pitchers by round 20. Now I'm sure you have something better to do right now like bilking people out of their hard-earned money at the rate of about $300 or more an hour. :P

Your sincerity is overwhelmingly heart-warming. Keep in mind that your track record against me hasn't exactly been stellar either, Dobies. And I believe this league has at least a couple of attorneys in it who wouldn't appreciate you speaking on their behalf. Also, It's not bribery. It's pandering and begging. Learned it from Greg. ;)

Again, congrats on your 11th place finish in last year's Diamond Jr. League. You beat me real good to the tune of $0. i vaguely recall going wire to wire in this league last year, but I could be mistaken.

$300 an hour? Those are 2002 rates, bud. See you at the Rhino. :D

It was a 7th place finish, thank you very much. I believe you were like 14th or something, but I'm sure you will have a better showing in the Platinum riding Juprinka's coattails. :P And the Rhino it is! :D

On the contrary, KJ, Mr. Fleming and I will be celebrating our richly deserved league championship win this time next year. You can bank on it. 8-) So if I were you and your team of yes-men, I would be spending more time working on your draft plan for your at best second place finish rather than attempting to be witty on these boards. :P

We are now down to 1 SPOT LEFT for the Sunday, March 30th NFBC Diamond League as the tag team of James Stanard and Shawn Childs have confirmed their participation in this league. Mike Massotto has declared his intention to take this final spot, so we'll definitely save it for him. That would complete an incredible league, one morning after the NFBC Platinum League!! WOW, what a weekend we have planned in Las Vegas!!! :D

Here's the current lineup card for this league:

NFBC DIAMOND LEAGUE

Bellagio Las Vegas
Sunday, March 30, 10 a.m. PT
1. Bob Particelli, Berwyn, Pennsylvania
2. Donn Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia

6. Will Tyrer, Beverly Hills, California

The discussion about the progressive ME got my thinking about the DIamond.

If anyone is interested in a voluntary side-pot (amount to be determined) that would be separate and distinct from the NFBC prize portion of this league, shoot me a PM.

We wouldn't need everyone to do it, but if we could get 8 or 9 guys willing to pay another $2k or so in a winner-take-all format (whoever finishes with the most points among contributing players), that's a pretty cool thing.

Okay, just a heads up that we still have 1 SPOT LEFT in the Sunday, March 30th NFBC Diamond League. We'll have to finalize the KDS deadline and draft spot selection for this league as well once we have a full 15 owners. We have 14 now. If anyone has an interest in this league, contact me at [email protected]. We'll get this one filled soon enough. Thanks all.

The first 14 owners are in for sure and we still have one tentative spot. We offered this last spot to someone else who was inquiring about it, but he couldn't commit to it at this point. We just felt that opening it up to the public at this time would ensure that we do fill this one up. We don't want to take any chances. We'll get this one filled and have a great Sunday in Las Vegas.

Sounds good Greg, thanks.

One question. You mentioned KDS for the league. Was just curious what the options are and if "live in Vegas" is one of the options on the table? Thanks again.

I think there's a history of having draft picks sooner than Las Vegas for this league and honestly I don't see a reason to switch to what the Platinum has. We didn't anticipate that being the case in the rules and I'm not sure it's needed here. That being said, we can certainly do it closer to Draft Day than we've done in the past, but I don't think "live in Vegas" is necessary unless 8 or more owners tell me otherwise. But after seeing the Platinum email chain, I'm not sure I want to go down that path again. ;)

Please God, in the name of all things holy, not another E-mail thread on when to hold KDS!!!  :?

Now of great importance is securing that 15th entry, so please focus on that in lieu of our draft slot location/time. And if possible, please keep that focus on Massotto. I already figured out my potential ROI for this league with Massotto in it. I'd hate to have to go back to the calculator and figure those odds back down. :(

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Feb 18, 2014 10:37 am

We are happy to report that the NFBC Diamond League on Sunday, March 30th IS NOW SOLD OUT!!

David Deterra took that last spot as we now have 15 owners. Dave has to do this league remotely, but we already had Shawn Johnson on a phone, so we'll make this work with 13 at the Bellagio and 2 on the phone. Easy enough.

This is a GREAT league and I'm so glad to have a final 15 for this league. This should be one tough league. We'll talk about KDS deadline and getting draft spots and all of that shortly, but it's good to have a full Diamond League for the 5th straight year to go along with a full Platinum League.

Here's a look at the final lineup card for this special league:

NFBC DIAMOND LEAGUE
LAS VEGAS
Bellagio Las Vegas
Sunday, March 30, 10 a.m. PT
1. Bob Particelli, Berwyn, Pennsylvania
2. Donn Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia
3. John Lemke, Brooklyn, New York
4. Shawn Johnson, Macedon, New York (P)
5. KJ Duke, San Diego, California
6. Will Tyrer, Beverly Hills, California
7. Stephen Jupinka, Waldwick, New Jersey
8. Rick Thomas, Lewes, Delaware
9. Nick Cassavetes, Los Angeles, California
10. Jim Ferrari, San Diego, California
11. Glenn Lowy, Farmingville, New York
12. Jeff Dobies/Ante Meich, Farmingville, New York
13. Matthew Shepherd, Napa, California
14. Shawn Childs, Forestdale, Massachusetts
15. David Deterra, Jamestown, Rhode Island (P)
