Position Eligibility Rule - Minor League Players
Position Eligibility Rule - Minor League Players
d) Players who played all of 2013 in the minor leagues will be awarded position eligibility for the 2014 NFBC season based on the most games played at all levels in the minors. STATS will determine that one eligible position before Draft Day and that will determine that player's status for 2014 once he is called up to the majors.
Could we please clarify, does "based on the most games played at all levels in the minors" mean their entire minor league career or all levels played in the minors in 2013?
Case in point, Matt McBride (formerly in the Rockies org.) played as an OF most of his minor league career but played all of his 2013 games as a catcher. Is he an OF still because he has more total minor league games played at OF?

Re: Position Eligibility Rule - Minor League Players
I have an eligibility question regarding a young player.
Xander Bogaerts is listed as a 3B in the draft room and as a SS in the ADP. Which one is accurate?

It's games played in the minors the previous year, not career. He would be eligible at catcher.Deadheadz wrote:d) Players who played all of 2013 in the minor leagues will be awarded position eligibility for the 2014 NFBC season based on the most games played at all levels in the minors. Excellent! That's how I drafted him in Lg.2493 but he's listed as OF only.Greg Ambrosius wrote: It's games played in the minors the previous year, not career. He would be eligible at catcher.
Please add that to the IT Dept inbox for March. Now I'm only hoping he gets a contract and plays in 2014.
Cheers!

Mike Olt is still "officially" 1b.
Re: Position Eligibility Rule - Minor League Players
When would I expect this to be changed? He's currently OF only. I'd wait and ask in March but I'm guessing you guys will be very busy at that time.Greg Ambrosius wrote:It's games played in the minors the previous year, not career.
