Okay, at some point you guys will have to give me your real names. If we sell this out, I will then sign everyone up using a start date under NFBC Draft Champions Express. Then we'll set this clock at 8 hours, but you folks will keep things moving at 5 rounds per day. I'm convinced this will work well with the right 15 owners.

Okay, let's keep it going. ONLY 9 SPOTS LEFT!!

Looks like we're making some traction. Greg, in the initial post I said that we'd start on Friday, February 28th or Saturday, March 1st depending on when the group wanted to start. Thanks for the help on this. It will be interesting knowing in advance when the draft will stop each day. I'm looking forward to seeing this play out.

So will the clock actually be stopped at night or just the last person stops at a certain time while the clock continues to run?

The way I vision it is the group will manipulate it on the corners. If it goes too fast during the day the last pick will have to let the clock run down and the first pick the following day can be timed with an auto one feature 8 hours after the last pick. I'll help monitor it pretty closely.

Everyone will be done for the day after their 5th, 10th, 15th etc. round picks. I think the group will figure it out as we go. 35 rounds in 7 days and then maybe we just let it flow, it will be up to the group.

Money wrote:I'd like to see if there is any interest in a DC draft with a 5 round per day hard cap. The idea would be that we stop each night after 5 rounds. We would need to manipulate the timing a little bit at the end of the night. The players in the 2nd and 14th spots would start the following day on auto one letting the clock run down signaling the start of drafting for the following day or they could simply draft when ready the following morning.

The group will figure it out together and do what's best or necessary. Also after 35 or 40 rounds we could let if flow. In either event this is a 10 day draft.

This will allow players to evaluate their rosters in 5 round increments and evaluate the player pool for the next 5 rounds the following day. If there is enough interest I propose we start on Friday, February 28th or Saturday, March 1st.

You do need to be available throughout the day to make picks. This could not be a check in twice a day league.

If there is interest we'll have Greg set it up.
Only 5 spots to go, we'll look to start this next Friday no matter when it fills. If you have the time to check in regularly and commit to a hard cap of 5 rounds per day, this is the DC for you. I quoted the original post that includes a couple of other details if you're interested.

Sounds like the bulk of this draft will be that first full week of March. That week will be a busy one for me at work.

The draft will have my undivided attention in the morning and evening but i am worried I'm going to hold stuff up during the middle of the day. i can usually look at it a few times during the work day but i can't sit and stare at it like I can at night :)

Money do you think that is going to be ok? I don't wanna be the flat tire. After about 6pm CST I could sit and draft until midnight but 8-5 might be slower for me.

As long as you can cheek in periodically I think it will be fine. The way I proposed it suggests periodic checks, an 8 hour absence mid day won't work. Heck i wouldn't mind doing 5 rounds in a 3 hour period that everyone agreed upon, that's for another day though.

The simple fact that you care enough to ask the question suggests to me that you're just fine for this league.

I thought that my last DC would be the last of the year. I was in dc1 the so called dream draft. I was also in the invitation draft, one of the fastest drafts. This last draft was a horror, no chats, no texting alerts, and many 7 hour picks. No one cared. This draft soured me toward doing anymore dc's this year. This proposed 5 round draft sounds like a turn on for me. Please count me in. Martin lowy.

Greg. I'll give this a go if Joe will have me. Hopefully I can sway Dough into fitting me on that approved drafters list.

DC 59 left me feeling the same way.

At least when I'm in a slow draft with the likes of KJ Duke, Doughboys, BK Mets, etc there's chat and a sense of competitiveness. Sure, half the chat may be discussing what poor picks I'm making but it's fun and entertaining.

I wish you all the best for the 5 Picks DC but I'm done with slows. See ya'll in the OCs, ME and the odd Express DC.

Of course we'll have you. The great thing about this league going in is that everyone is on the same page and has the same expectations. Ultimately this will be our league and the experience will be what the 15 of us make of it.

Welcome aboard.

A horror? Ha, OK Boris Karloff! So much I'd like to add, but will just leave it alone...I was thinking about joining, but will pass, GL with this new format.

Now this is really getting good with the addition of MtM. This is close to full now, Greg will update the list when he gets a chance. If we go over 15 the order of the posts will determine who's in.

Mikey, please know that we are capping this at 5 rounds per day and will resist temptation to go further for the first week. This is going to fun, perfect, probably not, but we'll figure it out as we go and maybe tweak the idea for another round or two next year. I will continue to beat this drum, the fact that everyone knows going in what to expect will make this a great experience. Thanks for joining in Mikey 8-) Now it's time to get you signed up for the 12 team Super :D

Whatever you guys decide is fine by me. If it's five rounds per day, then that's what it will be. No worries. I need a break from draft facilitation anyway. :D

As far as the 12-team Super, I won't entirely rule it out, but given my social schedule out there in Vegas that weekend, it will be highly unlikely...
