Glad we can still access the old system. While I'm sure I'll eventually warm to this view, I
don't like how each new player you are bidding on is right on top of the previous bid. It would be
an easier read if there was a space between your #1 bid and your #2 bid. The colors don't separate
the players.

I also can't sort the entire column of players in Alphabetical order with this new and improved version.
With multiple teams to faab, I'm staying old school for this week.

Greg, are we able to sort by player name? I've been trying to and no luck. Please let me know if we can make that sortable.

Secondly, I get what Cali Cartel was asking. He wants the pending side to remain stationary and not scroll with the free agent list as we scroll that side down. Sort of like you would do with the heading or number listing with an excel spreadsheet.
We are looking for a solution to this second request. The problem is that some Conditional Lists are extremely long, so we had to build in for that. But we're looking into this one.

Yes, that's why we left a link to the old FAAB system. I'm sure some folks will use that for awhile until they have more time to get used to this new setup. And I'll ask about sorting by player name so that folks can find players in alphabetical order. Seems like a workable solution. Good luck all and remember that if you want to use the old FAAB setup there is a link at the bottom of the page that takes you back to that setup.

I think the new system works very well. Moving the top bid down if necessary is so easy and will save me the most time. I did prefer to review players alphabetically and I'm glad you are working on that.

Just an FYI on that: There is a Search window right there if you are looking for a specific player. But IT will look at sorting that list alphabetically in the near future.

The reason alphabetical list comes in handy is when I do conditional bids. I might add five or more names to a list in the first effort. I know generally who they are. I click off their names from an alphabetical list quickly. I think if I have to enter a search for each one to find them will take time. Does that make sense?

The ability to alphabetically sort names is a must and pretty much an industry standard. The search feature requires the ability to spell a player's name somewhat correctly. I could try to spell some players like Farquar 20 times and not get it right. :?

I love the new FAAB. I think it's a vast improvement. A couple more tweaks and it'll be the best around in my mind.

Greg,
The following categories can be seen for free agents using the OLD FAAB system. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see a lot of those same categories using the NEW FAAB system? Am I missing something? If not, will they be added? I will continue to use the OLD FAAB system until they can be found in the NEW system. Thank you.

No way you fit all these columns with the new side by side view.

There are some that definitively do need to be added (percentage owned, etc. as noted earlier in the thread), but I don't think every one of these columns are necessary in the primary view as they're more research related than FAAB related if you know what I mean.

Trying to use this today, agree with Sack that it's uncomfortable to look at your bid list. I think it's because it doesn't "look" like a list visually with drops mixed in with adds as you scan down. One obvious fix; player drops should be to the right of player adds, not directly below them which makes the list look jumbled and twice as long. I want to see player B right below player A, it is to easy too make mistakes when your eye has to jump over players all down the list.

Why not incorporate player feedback during the design process rather than launching sight unseen? It always seems like the guys creating this stuff just don't get us, even as they add things we've asked for they take away others without asking ...

Well, they did take our suggestions up front when designing the software.

Still, KJ's suggestion makes too much sense to be ignored. There should be a small advisory board put together of the players who will be the end users to any product to test right before release. They can comment, and then tweaks and adjustments can be made up front. I suppose in a sense that's what's happening now. Still, I think it would help streamline the process and what's released to the general public will be closer to the end product.

Find 4 or 5 regular players who others trust that cover a complete cross section of end users (old school pad & paper guys, high tech power users, and a couple in between) and have them provide preliminary feedback. Doughy, KJ, a few others would be perfect. I'd trust they'd look out for our best interests. Not that STATS or you and Tom aren't, but you won't be using the software weekly and therefore may not have the same perspective.

if that's the case, i'd MUCH prefer to continue to use the OLD FAAB. please keep it operational all season Greg. Thanks.

I believe we were asked to put the list of free agents and your bids side-by-side, which eliminates half of the space. Again, we are creating a second tab of data. I'll ask what is going to be there and if most of that can be located there. We had the choice of waiting a week to unveil this with that second tab or debut this now and we chose to showcase this now. If you'd rather use the old FAAB system in the interim, that's perfect. That's exactly why we left the link there. Good luck this week.

If I'm bidding for Shelby Miller p and Steve Miller p, how can I tell which is which?

appreciate the effort but it doesn't look right. there is just no way to get the stats and info that everyone has grown accustomed to and have your bid list to the right. even now without them its really not aesthetically pleasing as the columns all jumble together. maybe its just me?

i've not seen many other site's layouts but if you keep the interface and move that list back to the top and return all the previous headers i think its solid. not great, but an improvement. that way you can also see everyone's name so there is no shelby miller confusion. the search function is a real nice add.

any way you roll i agree with another poster that a link to the previous FA page should be kept all season. Thanks for the updates.....

Greg, I think you and IT missed the whole point of the suggestion for having the free agent list and the pending bids side by side (thus KJ's suggestion for a test group would have definitely benefitted here).

We would only benefit if the two sides scrolled "independently". That way you could scroll through the FA list and add conditionals and wouldn't have to scroll all the way back to the top to adjust the order, tweak the bid amounts, etc. It would be right in front of you to the right.

However, with the way you have the pending bids scrolling alongside the FA list, it defeats the whole purpose. You might as well just keep it to the top of the FA list then as you still have to scroll everything all the way to the top again to make your adjustments.

I hope that made sense.

If you look at the RT Sports FAAB setup, they have a side by side with a much smaller font and tons of space for additional data, which they don't even have. If the font size was even halfway between what STATS did and what RT has we could see everything we want, and have the list look proper by having player drops listed to the side of player adds (as it's always been) rather than beneath the player adds. Readability would improve 1000% and everything we want to see on the page would be there. Also agree on the split screen scrolling.

Also as I'm just starting to go through this morning the long lists that I built throughout the week I'm trying to trim them down and everytime I hit delete on a player that annoying message box comes up asking if I'm sure..can we please get rid of that? Being that it is so easy to add and move players around now I don't think that is necessary anymore. thanks

Was it part of the plan to remove the Bid On Player button from the individual player stats pages?

When attempting to change the person to drop I am taken to the player page of the person I am dropping. I see no way to edit the person in the drop box. What am I missing? I like the new look and feel. I think you could also make the shading of the top bid in each string a bit darker. Thanks.

Hit the pencil next to the drop. That's the edit.
