What does it take to win a 15 team league

Anybody out there have any idea what score it will take to be in contention to win you league? I know it will vary by league, but could you give an estimated range. My roto league has only 10 teams and last years winner had 78.

I just did some fast math. I believe, but I may be wrong, that if you get 150 points in your league you will finish in first. In fact, if my math is correct, you can assure a tie for frst with as few as 145 points (but don't quote me on that). :D

Ok, to be a bit more serious; I think somewhere around 105-110 points will win at least one league while around 120 will not win at least another.

Last year, the WCOFB had 3 leagues with a similar format. Their three league winners totaled 121.5, 112, & 116. A pretty small sample set however.

the screwy thing is, there is a particular strategy that will win a league of 15 teams a high % of the time, but in using it there is no way to win the overall out of 195 teams. so i don't think many people joined up to shoot to win the league and have no shot at the 100k, therefore rendering that plan useless. lol

One member of the WCOFF last year gave up on WINS and therefore K's also. This particular team won their league, but finished 6th or 7th overall. He had at least one team from his league beat him in overall points. I think the team was Hankstr.

With 195 teams, punting any category will seal your fate for the overall prize. Plus punting W’s and K’s is playing with serious fire. At least one of the top-tier closers will get hurt or turn to crap, if you go that route and have that player you won’t even finish in the top half of your league, let alone near the top overall.

NNOY - I agree. This is not the WCOFB which only had 45 teams. With 195 teams I think we will need balance. As for overall strategy, mine is to try to win my league and hope that makes me competitive in the overall. I really don't think the first year of a 195 team league will be easy to figure out a winning strategy for.
