Here is the team I got in Chi. #2 pick 15

C-- Mauer, Myers

CI- Durazo, Blake, LaRoche

MI- Nomar, Furcal, Durham

OF- Bonds, Crawford, G. Anderson, Geurt, Bigbie, Nix

Bench Jason Lane, Rickie Weeks, Cuddyer

SP- Colon, Nomo, Pineiro, Buehrle, Jer. Williams, Wakfield, Bri Anderson, Ramon Ortiz, Zack Greinke

CL- Hoffman, Nathan, Chad Cordero

I feel I have a solid all around team, was very happy with Nomar and Bonds at 15 and 16. I do have some holes, my Closers are not the best, and my CI is weak. Overall I have good speed and avg. HR and RBI could be better. I like my SP's should be ok in wins and K's. Don't know why I took Weeks when I did but he could pay off in July if I still have him. Again overall a good team I feel I should be in the top 5, but I'm an Injury away from falling to the middle of the pack.

Our draft was really odd, a lot of guys went 5 rounds too early. C, and Cl were also taken very early. Also one team didn't take any SP's and didn't take a RP till round 11 or 12, Ended up with one opening day closer in Baez, Marte and Urbina were the next best for getting saves. Another team has the all DL OF with Paterson, Griffey, Drew, and Juan Gone, also has a lot of young arms, Beckett, Willis, Jackson, and Lee.

Walter sczobak . . . sorry if I spelt your name wrong, I think if Burrell has the year he had 2 years ago your OF is the best Ive seen, and Quahogs . . .the TO guys thats right, my partner and I were saying we thought your team was the most balanced after looking at the board. I really cannot believe how many teams look solid up and down . . . the team that wins is the team that stays healthy assuming they make waiver pick ups that support there holes . . .I wish there was trading . . .just a question for those of you who have Halladay . . .would you trade us Doc for pineiro and posada??? . . .just curiosity, thnaks

What stats are you using to claim your team is better than mine? I’ve run projections based on last season, USA Today, Shandler, and about every other resource I can find. You must be using your own crack smoking projections if you think your sorry team is top-5 in the league. Renteria with pick 14? Piazza in the 3rd round? Tools like you are the reason I got Giambi in the 5th round. You had no clue what you were doing.

As far as my personal appearance goes: take a look around you bud, this is a group of geeks. We understand the statistics behind baseball, we aren’t the ones ever going to play the game. Your insult of my personal appearance likely correlates with your general intelligence and education level (my bad your are from the education state: Kentucky.)

I KNOW how good my team is based on the statistics. I’m not making claims that it is God’s gift to this league; it’s a good team that needs a few less breaks than some of the weaker teams to win this thing. ANYONE that looks at how our draft went and the fact that Giambi fell to me in the 5th has to question the level of the other players in the room (like yourself with your Piazza and Lee picks over him.)

I am also with team 14 in Chi. League 2. We had a great time at the draft, and met some nice people in our league. The draft moved along at a very nice pace, quicker than we expected.

nnoy-

Time never expired on us, and it was not us who called out 15 times someone who had been taken much earlier. If you think Giambi is that much better than Lee, congratulations. We happen to think Lee will put up similar #'s in HR, RBI, and avg, 15 more SB's, a few less runs, and is much less of an injury risk. I don't regret that pick at all. The only pick that I do regret is taking Fullmer at the end of the 7th. I'm pretty sure we could have gotten him the next time around (or later), and we missed out on a couple of closers, and settled for Looper as our #2.

Piazza with pick #44 is not a bad pick, by the way. We wanted Piazza or Lopez there, but didn't really expect them to make it back to us.

There really is not that much depth at catcher(you of all people should know), and we wanted to get 2 good ones, and we think we did. Can't wait for the season to start. Josh Bard rules!

Jeffgoeke asks ...

** the (one) minute time limit separates the men from the girls I think. You had to be prepared. ... Wanted to know if teams with just 1 owner struggled at all. With 2 guys, we felt like we were hummin' along tracking all that was going on. ... **

I drafted 10th in NYC #2 league. I did not find being a solo-owner to be a problem, although it sure would have been had I not been well-prepared. I had spreadsheets by position which allowed me to cross players off the lists as they were drafted. I can see where having a partner could help in terms of keeping track of such things, but you also have to confer on selections, which can take some valuable time. Admittedly, there were times when I felt a bit rushed in terms of making a selection, but I don't believe that I was any more impacted by time constraints than anyone else in our league's draft.

Drafted 10th in NYC #2. I think I have a pretty good team except for a miserable bullpen. That's going to take some waiver-wire work to be sure. Good balance on offense. Starters are solid although not spectacular. (Not sure of which round I took each player since there were plenty of other things more important to keep track of at the time.)

C - Ramon Hernandez

C - Michael Barrett

1B - Sean Casey

3B - Scott Rolen

CI - Morgan Ensberg

2B - Michael Young

SS - Miguel Tejada

MI - Luis Rivas

OF - Brian Giles

OF - Lance Berkman

P - Johan Santana

P - Freddy Garcia

P - Al Leiter

P - Tim Wakefield

P - Shigetoshi Hasegawa

Reserves

Our team "Tyree & Lysol", drafted in the popular NY #1 league. We had the #8 pick overall, right between "Legend 7" and "On the DL NY#1".

First off, this group was well run and most the managers were well prepared. Legend definitely snagged a few of our picks, but I know we got a few of the DLs also....just the way it goes. Both these guys were excellent to draft next to, and clearly knew what they were doing....I enjoyed drafting in this group and talking on the side with the managers.

As for our team, my co-manager Sully and I think that we did pretty well overall....here were the results:

C: Kendall, Estrada

1B: Texeira

2B: Kent

SS: Tejada

3B: Hillenbrand

MI: Ellis

CI: Ibanez

OF: G.Anderson, Damon, A.Sanchez, Gerut, Kotsay

U: Mench

SP: Halladay

SP: Colon

SP: Piniero

SP: Brett Myers

SP: Trachsel

SP: Edwin Jackson

SP: Brandon Claussen

RP: Billy Wagner

RP: Braden Looper

BENCH: Adam Laroche, Josh Fogg, Justin Morneau, Mark Grudzilanek, Eric Munson and Grant Roberts.
