Re: Cutline FA Bids
As I posted on another thread, Tom and I can take the blame for not communicating how Cutline FAAB was going to run before you guys saw the spiggot turned off on Sunday night. That's on us for not communicating this beforehand.Steel Lugnuts wrote:Yeah, pretty bogus, I work a late shift tomorrow and not sure I will have any time either, I guess what I have set now may have to do.meanguy wrote:For what it's worth, I called and spoke with Tom. He said it should be unlocked by tomorrow AM. Doesn't help those who are trying to set bids now and don't have time tomorrow (like me).Steel Lugnuts wrote:Bids are indeed locked! What's up with this? I wish Greg or Tom would chime in.
Again, we need to figure out a workaround for two different sets of FAAB on different dates, but with just one Cutline FAAB left we decided to just shut off Cutline tools on Sunday night to seamlessly run all other FAAB on Sunday night. They let everything run and turned it back on Monday morning. Maybe there's a way we can limit the amount of down time in the future for Cutline users because yes the shutdown affected position eligibility and other tools longer than we would have liked.
But the plan was to shut off Cutline on Sunday night and again we should have told you in advance rather than have you learn the hard way. That's on us for not thinking of this in advance.
Sorry, but we've never done Sunday-Monday FAABs before and next year we'll have to think of a better way of doing this or communicating the process much better for Cutline users. Thanks all and good luck.

Yeah, I knew the addition of five open spots would be time consuming, but now that I hear from others I realize this was REALLY TIME CONSUMING. Sorry all.KJ Duke wrote:I feel like I deserve a T-Shirt that says ... ♦♦♦ I survived Cutline FAAB, 2016 ♦♦♦
Toooooo much roster expansion. Brutal.
I'm going to create a separate Cutline thread where we can talk about suggestions for next season. I think little tweaks like adding another round to the original draft (we should have an even number anyway to make things fair for all teams) and maybe having just one or two open spots for each FAAB period makes sense. Or maybe 36 players is enough. We can all post our thoughts on a separate thread, so look for that soon.
Sorry for all of the work on Monday, but now your work is done. You can now sit back and cheer on all of your Cutline teams without doing another thing. Again, sorry for all of the extra work on the two FAABs, but we've learned a lot about this new contest and with a few tweaks we can really make this contest even better. Be ready to chime in and give me your thoughts soon. Thanks all.
