LAST ONE: NFBC/Fanball $50/50 Teams Contest Tonight

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Aug 23, 2019 7:16 am

Thanks to everyone who participated in our weekly NFBC/Fanball DFS Contest this year, the last few weeks on Friday nights. We have already given out 11 FREE 2020 NFBC Main Event entries and will run this contest one more time tonight. Here's your LAST CHANCE to turn $50 into a FREE 2020 NFBC Main Event entry.

Here is this week's contest link:

https://www.fanball.com/contests/AoHPZw5

We have 11 different owners who have already won a FREE NFBC 2020 Main Event entry so far. They include:

Week 1 - Todd Schoenfeld
Week 2 - Phillipe Dussault
Week 3 - Colin Weatherwax
Week 4 - Adam Warner
Week 5 - Roger Martin
Week 6 - Michael Alloca
Week 7 - Erik Sviggum
Week 8 - Dave Shovein
Week 9 - Mark Koval
Week 10 - Matt Anderson
Week 11 - John Pausma

Just a reminder that we pay the Top 3 finishers in this 50-team contest. Payouts are as follows:

1st Place - 2020 NFBC Main Event Entry Plus $50
2nd Place - $300
3rd Place - $100

There's a max of three teams per owner. Here's the rules for this contest again:

Roster Requirements
Rosters will consist of 9 players and must include players from at least 2 different MLB teams from at least 2 different MLB games. In addition, no more than 5 players from one team are permitted on rosters.

The 9 Roster positions are:

P (SP/RP)
C
1B
2B
3B
SS
OF (LF/CF/RF)
OF (LF/CF/RF)
UTIL (C/1B/DH/2B/3B/SS/LF/CF/RF)

Rules
In Fanball salary cap contests, entrants create a lineup by using players listed in the Player Pool to fill each defined roster requirement. All players have an assigned salary, and a valid roster will not have a salary cap that exceeds $55,000. In addition, the Player Pool will consist of all players expected to be on the active rosters for any team listed in the contest's event set.

Contest results will be determined by the total points accumulated by each individual lineup entry based on the scoring system detailed below.

Scoring
Pitchers
Inning Pitched (IP) 1.5
Strikeout (K) 2
Win (W) 6
Quality Start (QS) 6
Complete Game (CG)* 2
Complete Game Shut Out (CGSO)* 4
No-Hitter (NH)* 8
Perfect Game (PG)* 10
*Bonus points for pitching (CG, CGSO, NH, PG) do not stack, meaning if a pitcher throws a perfect game, he only gets the 12 points even though a PG is also technically a CG, CGSO, and NH.

Hitters
Single (1B) 4
Double (2B) 8
Triple (3B) 10
Home run (HR) 12
Run Batted In (RBI) 4
Run (R) 3
Base on Balls (BB) 2
Hit by Pitch (HBP) 1
Stolen Base (SB) 9
Hit for Cycle (CYC) 12

Good luck all.

Last one?
Nooooooooooo!

Are you sure?
Maybe when MLB uses 28 man rosters in September for future seasons this contest can go deeper into the season. I understand why 40-man makes things too chaotic.

Question: is there any way to see the results of these contests if you weren’t one of the participants? I keep wanting to see if my lineups could compete before I dole out 50 bucks.

Yeeeeeeees! This is it. It was a great run and we'll start these earlier next season. Glad to have 12 Main Event entries already spoken for, including to seven owners who didn't play in the Main Event this year and in some cases have never played in the Main Event before.

Yes, every contest link has a Leaderboard link on it. You can see all standings and every roster as well. It's there for every weekly contest we've run.

Okay, the link is the key. I’d been searching from within Fanball trying to find the results.

Thanks Greg for posting the final standings in this thread. It really helps to see the point totals to help gauge our own skill level to decide if we’ll compete against the hard core guys.

The game is fun so I’ll keep playing the $5 Fireplug this year and jump into your $50 game in 2020.

Hard core guys?

Uh, if you're on this Message Board that box is checked.

It's more like the 30-40 guys who actually have a little bit of free time on a Friday afternoon. At least it is for me!

Coincidence that a week after breaking bread & wine & steak's with your's truly (center) along with Russel Wyatt & Rob Giese at Gibson's Rosemont that Ando & John Pausma took down the 50/50 Contest in consecutive weeks? I think not. When I asked, have you ever smelled your fantasy line-up burning from the "hot" flame symbols on Live Scoring, and they said yes, I knew they were ready to take down the 50/50 Contest....or maybe it was just the 2nd bottle of wine that Giese insisted on buying that started to kick in. ;)

I’m just sore because I didn’t have the balls to jump in for the final chance at a 2020 ME entry. I should have been watching the message boards more closely as I wasn’t aware it was the last one for this summer.

All good with you not watching the message boards.
