Unavailable Free Agents This Week

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:26 am

Alejandro De Azo of Florida has been added to all of the free agent pools in the NFBC. You are allowed to bid on him this week and on Sunday we'll determine if he actually made the official 25-man roster or not. Right now he is not on Florida's 40-man roster as he entered camp as a non-roster invitee, but bid on him now with the premise that he could be removed later this week. Good luck everyone.

STATS is getting updates from MLB today on official roster moves. Alejandro De Aza has been added to Florida's 25-man roster and earlier this week Sammy Sosa was added to Texas' 25-man roster and Dmitri Young was added to Washington's 25-man roster. Those moves are official.

Dustin Hermanson was cut by Cincinnati this afternoon and is no longer on an MLB roster. He will be removed from all free agent pools this week as he's currently not on an MLB roster.

This is a unique week as after this one there shouldn't be many Sunday changes. Good luck everyone.

MLB teams are required to submit their 25-man rosters today at 2 p.m. CST, but obviously we don't have direct access to those. We are doing our best to update the free agent lists today as we can.

Cooperstown,

Sanchez seemed like a nice late round pick for steals... well at least you didn't have Cantu!

Our 14th rd pick is now a bust...sigh.

Owner of the Hitless Wonders (this team name is starting to fit better every day) Hey Rich,

Yeah, I suppose Cantu hurts you more than Sanchez hurts me. I really needed another P spot anyway and my SB's should be good w/o anyone else.

I'm sure Cantu was sent down because of his defense. In fantasy baseball defense isn't supposed to matter. But when a guy is so bad, there is always the worry that they will get sent down or at least lose some AB's late in the game. That's why I move guys like Cantu and Duncan down a lot on my draft board.

I read somewhere that Duncan was the worst defensive player in MLB, but I think Cantu has him beat.

So I guess you're hoping for a Todd Walker sighting somewhere. :D
