Good to have it right there when you are putting in a transaction.
I didn't look closely at the list, but I would update to add Utley and perhaps take off of Kent. I think anyone in the top 50 or 75 ADP should be on the list. Maybe top 100?
Anyway, glad to see the feature

Hey Spy, just noticed...thanks for posting about it. Looks like it's a couple of years old...Soriano at 2B, Lo Duca listed but not others better...need to fix this thing up bigtime lol
I would suggest the first 225 picks or so should be on it, and if someone has a major injury, they should post and email Greg/Tom so that a decision can be made.
LOL, just noticed Oliver Perez is on it.

I'm sure Greg will have something to say about it, but I don't believe the "Undroppable" list is supposed to be there.

Greg,
When you go to pick up a player now, you get the following on the add/drop screen:
"Hold down the Ctrl key and click to drop more than one player. Undroppable "
The Undroppable is a link to a page that shows the following:
CURRENT "UNDROPPABLE" PLAYERS
The following players are currently listed as "undroppable." These players cannot be released by a team in any league. This is done to prevent collusion, so that a weaker team (one that will most likely not make the playoffs as we near the end of the season) cannot simply drop their star players to waivers to be picked up by higher-ranked teams in their league. This list may be updated during the course of the season.

A very positive topic title, good job, Spy. However I will have to disagree that we really need such a list.
If you're playing at this level there should be a mental list on who should not be dropped. Yahoo and others provide this list because they are slow on customer service and this eases their responsibilities on drops. This backfires when Derrek Lee goes down and their system takes over a month to take Lee off of the list.
With players going hot and cold and moving up and down from the minors, the list would be ever changing and a headache.
We don't need no stinkin' list. We get a decision on a questionable drop within hours from an ever-present Greg and Tom. Would you really want it any other way?

FYI...
The Stats List is meaningless. You can drop anyone, but then Greg/Tom will determine if the dropped player will enter the FA Pool.
Last year I had RP Chad Cordero on my league, and I made the decision to cut so that I could add another starting pitcher to my rotation. After some unfortunate Week 1 events, including losing Keith Foulke as a closer, I only had 20 Saves going into All-Star Break, with Cordero having 16 of those.
Greg/Tom understood my logic and did not force my team to carry the dead weight player; however, they knew Cordero could help other teams in my league gain an advantage nationally (2 teams finished in Top 10 in Chicago 2 last year), so Cordero was removed from the player pool, and I got a 3rd place finish on the last day of the season due to my mid-season strategy to dump closers.
On the other hand, many other teams cut Hideki Matsui in April 2006, since his expected return from injury date was September, and Tom/Greg did not remove Matsui from the pool because almost every team who had him, cut him, as part of the management strategy, so there was no advantage gained by teams in a so-called "weaker" league.
When making FAAB bids, do not think that Stats will prevent you from selecting a player to drop. Any player can be dropped, so if you accidentally select Albert Pujols and FAAB runs, he will be gone from your team, and then Greg/Tom will decide if he should be removed from your Free Agent Pool.
Just want to make sure a new owner does not fall victim to an accidental click. Always make sure the player you are dropping for a Free Agent is the player you want to cut!

I agree everyone should know, but as NFBC grows through the Satellites etc... there are tons of new players. I think a list like this makes it much easier to understand what is going on. The Tom and Greg looks approach doesn't scale well as the number of members grows!!!

Spy [/QUOTE]I'm not sure why this is any tougher for Tom and I. All of the players are listed alphabetically and thus we should be able to spot Pujols just as easily today if we do our job. I hope enough people trust Tom and I to do our jobs just as diligently together with four times the number of teams as we did in 2004 when we started.
Just worry about keeping your teams in the money and we'll do our best to manage all 73 leagues and the cuts that go with them.
