The reporter should have kicked his ass. If I'm an owner and I see my manager going crazy after 9 games. I'd ask him to leave. Oh you can add that guy from Chicago too! Didn't he use to be good as a player or something???? Oh wait I remember Seattle. No he was never good.

Obviously a terrible decision but let's not put it at the feet of Manuel, no way a call like that gets made without the front office supporting it.

Gillick deserves more blame than anyone, why spend the money on Eaton when you have Lieber and serious holes in the pen.

Maybe Gordon will be traded this week and Myers becomes the closer.

I thought this was a joke, how can you have a 200 innings pitcher , one of the young best starters in the national league go to middle relief.Somebody in PHILLY is a straight up moron.

Myers becoming the closer is a lot better than a middle inning reliever,,yes they signed him for big $... Manager is crazy! Maybe Myers pissed off someone.

When they fire Manuel he will be back in the rotation. If he becomes the closer upon a Gordon trade its not the worst thing but of course he's much better starting.

They won't trade Gordon. They need all of the bullpen help that they can get. Myers to set-up could be one of the worse managerial decisions I've ever seen.

While I agree it is a really bad decision, remember that Myers volunteered for the bullpen during the spring. I have to think he will be the closer in the near future if he stays in the pen. A trade would make sense but Tom Gordan was also one of the best set up guys in baseball just 2 years ago so maybe he becomes the set up man to Myers as closer.

Just the kind of news I was looking for. Now I have Brett Myers and Brad Lidge in middle relief, no closers whatsoever, one less starting pitcher, and far fewer strikeouts. Yabba Dabba Doo!
